Benzos Restoril (temazepam) opinions?

I am prescribed restoril along with suboxone for sleep and Opiate WD's I have been lortab/lorcet free for 6 months but lately i have had bad anxiety and i think its due to the suboxone. I take restoril and serequel for sleep and it works perfect but i only take them at night so during the day i feel real anxious. Is it ok to take restoril during the day because they seem to help me with anxiety at night after i take them i feel real happy and in a great mood? I am prescribed 60mgs of restril a night and i used to have a Xanax addiction . So I was reading online and they said 1mg of xanax is same as 40mg of restoril. well i felt like getting fucked up and took 210 mg of restoril and one 100mg serequel about an hour ago and i dont feel anything at all but happy and no anxiety at all. I guess my question is does suboxone effet the restoril because that much should knock me off my ass right ? And im here typing and playing on itunes and feel fine. please someone tell me why am i taking placebos or what i get my script from walgreens in a prescrit bottle not samples.
 
Don't know much about suboxone, but I would think 210mg's of Restoril (Temazepam) would completely take you out. The most I've taken at one time is 60mg's and it made me real happy then put me right out. In fact it's the best sleep aid I've ever used. I don't have much of a tolerance so maybe it's different with you.
 
I would take smaller doses of temazepam overall, especially if you're going to use it during the day.

If you're feeling anxiety recently, then maybe it's time to start tapering down on your buprenorphine dose. How much buprenorphine do you take each day? What ROA?

Also, I'm not surprised temazepam isn't knocking you out, considering your prior benzodiazepine usage. Benzo tolerance doesn't seem to ever leave people once it gets to be long term.
 
im taking 4mgs of subs a day and i take it at like 9 am then i took the restoril an hour half ago 210 mgs and 100 mg serequel all same time. i wonder if my tolerance is just to high from xanax to feel anything at all
 
when i first started it i used to get really dizzy then sleep but its been 3 months now and i cant even feel effects off 210 mgs somethings not right i think suboxone has messed with it like it messes with taking lortabs on subs
 
Benzos with buprenorphine should be potentiated. Temazepam specifically builds a near-instant tolerance from what many have told me.

Maybe you should stop taking benzos for a while if you want to use them later down the road.

You shouldn't use hydrocodone while on buprenorphine because buprenorphine will outcompete hydrocodone for the receptor.

This is where I thought you were referring to taking lortabs while on subs, but congrats on avoiding that.

Suboxone doesn't mess with benzos, because buprenorphine, when taken at a proper dose, doesn't effect GABA receptors, only benzos do.

For me (and for everyone else I know), taking benzos while on buprenorphine is better than benzos by itself. I typically need a fraction of the dose of benzos other people do because I'm on buprenorphine. Even for people with a large benzo tolerance, they find benzos are more effective when on buprenorphine.

It probably has something to do with long term benzo tolerance. I know someone who can wait for a whole month waiting for their benzo tolerance to drop down, and they may only get a few times to use benzos again with any sort of low tolerance before it jumps right back up again.

I would advise you take benzos sparingly, since they may be more efficient that way. I don't think doctors properly inform patients about benzodiazepine tolerance.
 
I'm not recommending this but if you do want to get fucked up off benzos like temaz, have a couple of beers with it... i am not recommending this... just for the info...

as for taking temaz during the day, its a hypnotic so there are benzos out there that are a lot better to take during the day, like valium or k-pins...
 
30 mg of restoril (for sleep) is my benzo of choice, with valium in second place.

Be careful not to drive on it though.
 
yea. temazepam is fairly fatal ld 50 wise in the benzo world. Tolerance builds almost instantly (compared to other benzos)...at a high dose like yours i would look into clonazepam or something else.
 
I was on Restoril (Temazepam 60 mg's) at night for 3 years. The most wonderful sleep drug ever. I could never imagine taking it during the day though. Its a hypnotic benzo and it hits pretty much like a train for me. It hits and I fall right asleep. You need to ask your Dr. for something else as a day time benzo. I was taking Temazepam at night to sleep and then 2 mg's of Klonopin in the morning and 2mg's of Klonopin in the afternoon. I hoenstly wouldn't suggest that path though because honestly as good as it worked it put me in a bad place as far as benzo addiction goes. Klonopin all day and Temazepam at night for 3 years made for a horrid detox to stop. I really did a lot of dumb things in my life at that point too because I just didn't care about anything. Temazepam's temperamental "euphoria" - Your experiences please!

I just got some Temazepam for the first time in months today. Was under a stressful, without-sleep, mind-scattered mindset so I took 40mg (2x20mg tabs).
I'd been taking around 10-30mg of Diazepam for a few days prior to this too so I'd have assumed tolerance would have been present, definitely seeing as Temaz is a metabolite of Diaz...

Now, sometimes I get nothing from Temazepam but sometimes I get a really nice semi-euphoria. I have mixed it with some Dihydrocodeine today, but that does nothing to me these days except keep withdrawals away.

Does anyone else have this temperamental aspect with euphoria when it comes to Temazepam? It really is quite pleasant at this moment :)

Oh - p.s. I've had a few (5 or 6) Kalms also (containing Valerian & Gentian Extract and Hops).
Oh - p.p.s. What on earth is Gentian's purpose? It doesn't seem to have any therapeutic qualities :?
 
I get tons of euphoria from temazepam but don't have a benzo tolerance.

Temazepam can be hit or miss, depending on your tolerance.

W/o a tolerance, 15mg made me pass out, and I forgot everything that happened past that.

It's some potent stuff for sure. I would space out your doses to make it most effective.
 
Yea man it's very strange... I just had another taken sublingually... so that's... 60mg. And I'm thoroughly sedated but it's so comfy and lush. Someone in an old post likened it to an Opiate high almost and I can see what they were getting at.
No wonder they' gold dust to those who take dope and are in withdrawal... or just wanting to mix.

I can imagine that being fuckin well dangerous (IIRC Hypoventilation is quite strong when it comes to Temaz) but extremely lush. May give it a go tomorrow night so I use less dope :)

Yeah, temazepam is one of my favorite benzos. I really had no idea what I was missing out on until I took that first 7.5mg capsule. %)
