Now, I have been using drugs for well over 10 years now and in that time have often had dreams of getting high. Sometimes I would get so high in my dreams I would literally wake up and feel loaded for a short amount of time, usually until my mind would wake itself up. However, I have been detoxing from heroin and opiates the past few days (today being day 3 sober) and last night something bizarre happened. I should mention that I have detoxed from opiates dozens of times now, so I am familiar with this roller coaster. Usually after 24 hours of not dosing I get severe aches and pains, especially in my legs (rls), and also stomach issues every time I detox. This time was no different, I was feeling horrible yesterday.

Now, last night I went to sleep relatively early and didn't do anything out of the orginary. Normal dinner, normal activities, etc etc. Last night I had a dream about heroin and oxymorphone. I got so high in my dream last night I nodded out and when I nodded out I must of been startled and it woke me up. Now when I woke up I felt a rush of euphoria like I had just taken a hit, not a very strong one but definitely felt it. It was about 4am and I was somewhat out of my mind so I just fell back asleep, though I do remember waking up feeling high.

Now, what is strange is that this morning when I woke up I felt great. I didn't feel high at all, but my with withdrawals have seemingly stopped. I am not aching, my nose is not running, I do not feel sick or tired, in fact I feel totally fine. My only thing is that I am psychologically fiending for a hit... I should be in bad shape right now due to the extent of my last opiate binge. I usually take about 5 days before I start feeling normal and even then it can take a couple weeks for the aches to go away.

So, my only thought is that my dream last night is somehow doing this... Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am sort of worried that I will start having WDs again tomorrow or even later tonight...
