Researching and discovering the cause of my heroin overdose.

First, move this thread if necessary, its my first day...
This past July, I overdosed on heroin. I got some, did about half, and some time later, did the rest. Say, an hour or so afterward. A portion that was approximately less than what was previously consumed. I overdosed.

Beside the OD, this is assuredly not an unheard of habit of consumption amongst users.

Granted, there could have been settling type things occuring, as in more drug in one part over the other. Of course, if I were to take a whole gram at once I shouldn't be surprised if another so soon would cause overdose, but I assure you, this is not the case.

Immediately after this episode, I at first struggled with some chronological and metaphysical issues; Though aged all of 27 and at the cusp of joining the ranks of the 27 club as a retard half cousin, amazingly untalented and far less than unaccomplished, my thoughts then turned to the possibilities of multiple universies-- did I die and rewake the same man in an alternate reality, given another chance -- worrying I was no longer the same me before I reawoke??

But those concerns are for a different post.
Once certain I had retained mental and motor facilties and of rational mind and my first thoughts considered medications I had taken in the last 24 hours. But this overdose was sudden, unannounced, unforeseen, unintentional.

I hit myself, I blinked, and I was in an ambulance.

However further research bore this fruit:
At the time, I IV dosed in my neck.
I just recently read about a portion of the carotid artery referred to as the carotid sinus, stimulation of which can cause various fluctions in heart and breathing rate and may cause fainting.
Could I have unintentionally stimulated this sinus, causing myself to faint, precipitating a more severe overdose situation?

Take a look at what the 'net has to say about this carotid sinus and get back to me.
