i need a replacement for diacetylmorphine which is legal in the uk. i have looked at a good few but can not find info on some so i thought i would give it to the experts to look at

The UK has, since at least the 1920's, a legal prescribing scheme for dependant addicts. Injectable ampoules of Diamorphine are available on prescription through the NHS through a specially licensed addiction doctor. Any opioid available on the market in the UK can be prescribed in this fashion (IV Methadone, IV Morphine, Diconal, etc all have patients currently maintained on them that I can recall based on released data). As far as opioids that are most similar to Heroin, just look at its brother and sister drugs. Nicomorphine and Desomorphine are good places to start, not to mention good old Morphine. Personally I think Metopon, 14-Methoxymetopon and Dihydromorphine would make excellent maintanence drugs. But that's just me.
