Stimulants Removing epsom salt from meth

I was dumb and didn't filter the anhydrous magnesium out of my acetone before washing speed with it.

Now I am. Left with epsom salt and meth.


I put it in dry ethanol and filtered, let evap...still has epsom. How do I remove it?!
 
Actone wash?

Failing that, freebase it, take it up in the minimum volume of HOT toluene, xylene or naptha. Wash with cold water a couple of times. This will remove the epsom salt, which will remain in the aqueous phase. Gas with HCl, precipitating the meth. Filter off the goods, then partially evaporate, until perhaps a quarter of the volume of solvent remains, this can be put in the freezer, to freeze-precipitate remaining meth, if any (lowering the temperature lowers the solubility of dissolved compounds, resulting in their precipitation)

And then lastly, evaporate your solvent completely, to get any last traces of speed out of there.

Gassing with HCl is a little advanced for me, and it is a pretty small amount.
Will another acetone wash help? I was under the impression that the meth and mag. sulfate would both be insoluble in acetone. Is that not the case?
 
Option 1. Ignore it; epsom salt is just magnesium sulphate and is basically harmless.

Option 2. Acid/base extraction.

Acetone washes won't do anything.

Dangit...That's what I was afraid of.

Can inject it, snort it, plug it etc...just can't smoke it. =/
 
We had reports of someone selling pretty much pure epsom salts as crystal here. What ever it was, it put a few people in the hospital after injecting it. Please be careful.

the symptoms reported included blurred vision and coloured spots, dizziness, burning sensation from the inside out, shallow breathing and slowed heart rate, high fever with no sweats and severe dehydration. At the exchange I work at we recommended that people get to the hospital if the experienced those.
 
Aye, perhaps it also has another impurity that neither the acetone or ethanol is removing then?

Because the smoke is acrid, and taking a few hits leads to coughing up nasty tasting phlegm for at least a day or two...which is why I was attempting to clean it.

It looks like good crystal, but when heated turns clear and then into brown liquid and stays hot for a long time/takes forever to crack back. Not sure what the contaminant is, but it's pretty sucky whatever it is. =/
 
Methamphetamine is soluble in pure ethyl alcohol. Magnesium sulfate isn't.

Fairly clear you are not dealing with epsom salt, but something that is soluble in ethanol, unless you really failed at making dry ethanol.

sorry a newbie here? what is speed?
 
Speed = Slang used predominantly for (meth)amphetamines, however it is not uncommon for "speed" to be used in reference to any stimulating substance. In tis case, "speed" is referring to meth.

I don't mean to sound crass, but the fact that not only were you unaware of what "speed" was, but you could not figure it out using basic reasoning means that you needn't worry about anything in this thread. TBH, I would caution against using any drugs with spending some time doing extensve research. Erowid.org is a great place to start. Again, my intent is not to be condescending, but this is the most rudimentary of drug knowledge. Please visit Erowid and read all you can understand before getting high.

thanks for enlightening me. because i come from asia, so Speed is not a term used here.
