remebering truth
locked in this booth
of constant indoctrination
bombarded by abomination
cause in this nation...
it's all about greed
and the need
for a decent sack of weed
those who don't know
should
and those who do
...well they don't do what they could
i'm talking 'bout us
just get on the bus
and tell everyone you see
what it's like to be to be free
how it feels to carress
~~the essence~~
to touch someone's heart everyday
don't grow up
grow wise and play

There's a beautiful blend of innocence and wisdom in this. It's enlivening and makes me smile. :)

You could say we've heard the sentiments behind it a million times, but that doesn't mean they don't bear repeating, especially when the message just doesn't seem to get across (often enough). I mean, just take a look around (you know what I mean!) And the message in this poem just flows so damn well, like a fit & healthy river.

Not sure if the repetition in this line is intentional, but I actually think it works really well rhythmically and semantically:

what it's like to be to be free

i agree with wordy. there is a magestic truth to this well written piece.
