Basically thats it. Went to the dr today after finally getting health insurance again and not having seen a dr for a looong time, unless you count er visits lol...Anyways, my ex gfs father is a PA so he could call in immitrex for me in dire situations. If you get migraine you know what dire is and it SUCKS. Anyways i tell the dr how ive been getting them for 23 years and how they are primarily food and weather related, i know most all food triggers and avoid them but sometimes shit happens and i get one. So he tries to put on me topamax full time, didnt like that idea and just asked for immitrex and he said let me check the sample room. yea there is a room apparently lol.

So he gives me a handfull of boxes of this new triptan Relpax. he said its better than immitrex and basically sounded like he was reading a memo from the drug maker.

i was thinking of putting this in HR, but its more about the drug. My question being, any migraineurs get this relpax stuff before? how does it compare to immitrex? more or less side effects? i know triptans are crazy expensive, for example one pill of GENERIC sumatriptan costs about<no price discussions>at any pharm chain. the relpax is closer to <No price discussions>.

would love to hear any helpful info. Thanks.

I'm scripted Relpax and it works for me. Sometimes it really sucks if I reach to 2 pill limit and the migraine is relentless.. but that's usually rare. I get really sleepy when I take it though. It didn't happen to me at first when I got it but I noticed the last two times I've had to take it I got knocked out at the worst of times. Luckily, my husband was able to watch my 2 year old otherwise I don't know what I would have done.

hmm, sleepy? never had a triptan make me feel sleepy before. Have you tried any of the other triptans before? namely immitrex? its the original and gold standard if you will for triptans. there is a nasal spray that is fantastic, single dose and you can actually feel it getting to the blood vessels.

thank you for the info tho, i figured it was a 2 pill limit, dr said nothing about it tho, i sppose since they were samples.

Ive never felt sleepy when taking relpax....i started on 20mg, that didnt seem to help so got a script for the 40mg....Most of the time it helps IF i take it early enough. they are VERY expensive, so i use only when nesseccary...I have not taken any other migraine meds
I have MAV, so i can relate to your pain. Oh i would love to try the nasel spray...wonder if its sold in canada? maybe i will ask my dr.

good luck
