Hello, i am new to this site. I need some help and advice. I have been taking suboxone for the last 3 years and have been dabbling here and there with dope. This time around i started using dope and it has now been three weeks non stop with the dope. My question is how long after my last usage can i safely go back to the subs? Also since its been 3 weeks since my last sub, do you think i could safely dtox off the dope and not have to go back to suboxone and be clean of everything. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.............

Hello,

Do you want to stay on suboxone or not? Ultimately, that's the only question you have to ask yourself, as you're not sure of it...

On one side, if you want to resume suboxone use, you have to be in the start of a withdrawal to be able to take suboxone again. If you're not in WD, you'll have an acute withdrawal syndrome, which is worse than full withdrawal.

On the other side, if you want to stay off opiates for good, you'll have to go through heroin withdrawal... but that you know it already. Good luck.

Of course you can safely detox from the heroin and not have to go back on suboxone, it's more a matter of if you will stick it out through the withdrawal.

Acute heroin withdrawl can range anywhere from 3-7+ days in my opinion, if you use suboxone more than 3 days during that period to mask the nasty intense heroin W/D, i believe you will have to end up going through suboxone WD, which is ALOT LESS INTENSE, it is very milder compared to any other opiate; however it has a very long half life, which means withdrawl from suboxone will be longer, a chronic suboxone user who decides to stop , will experience acute suboxone withdrawl for up to 3-5 weeks. it's my belief that if your using low doses of suboxone 2-4mg range AS NEEDED for 3-5 days during heroin Withdrawl, that you will not have to suffer the long 3-5 week suboxone withdrawl of a chronic suboxone user, i believe that 1-2 weeks at the most you will experience m8ild discomfort...i won't even get into Post Acute Withdrawl (PAWS) as that's a whole other ball field.

hey there, what i wud if i were in your shoes, wud use methadone 2 detox yourself of heroin. im from ireland, nd in the prisons over is, say u just cum in 2 jail, an ur strung out. they wiil prescribe u methadone for 16 days, to helf u cum of heroin. you start on 20 mls, for 2 days, den 25 , and work ur way up 2 35 mls. then its down 5 mls every 2 days. you will feel very little, doing it dat way. apart frm the shivers and a lack of energy!!
