Hey,, thanks for the PM. I replied but your inbox is full. If you clear some space, I'll re-send it:)

Friend if you want strength fighting this, you won't find it anywhere except on your knees. If you are addicted like I was willpower really doesn't carry a lot of weight in the decision making, the heroin makes all the calls, right? Get the help you need from people who do this, people who have come out the other side and know.

Cleared the space. Is there any way to increase my storage? It can only hold 5 messages sent/received combined... seems kinda small :|

^maybe reach certain # of posts where they list you are listed as a bluelighter, right now you are a greenlighter. Basically means you are a beginner to the site so until you contribute enough they are not offering the server space up. I am not sure this is the case, but probably is. Also, don't take that as a recommendation to make 10s of short and pointless posts just to build your post count.

Something to remind you that you hate the bloody stuff and don't want it anymore. It helped me a little to say to myself I was pathetic if I could not do as I chose(no more gear). So if you really want something tattood (you might regret it), maybe something like 'smack is for chumps'. Stay strong man, at least you know you need to stop. That is vital!

Tattoo effect is just a description. If you skin pop instead of IV or a muscle shot;you inject right below the skin. If there's a color, the lighter your skin the easier to see. See?

Don't get a tattoo about heroin

oh no no i dont want a tattoo about heroin i want something inspirational to help me quit heroin something that would inspire me i guess to quit every time i look at it? i guess it seems weird but it sounds like a good idea to me :\

Hah, I don't wanna burst your bubble but basically all my tattoos (and I have a shit load) are some form of "reminders to stay clean" or "remember the struggle" bull shit and they've never stopped me from using hah. They're just images to stick needles in.

If you really think it will help, go for it... but, addiction is way more complicated than just getting a tattoo. The motivation has to come from inside, man. Everything else is just superficial.

As far as the tattoos themselves go, I personally don't like words. Images just aesthetically look better. Nicely shaded pieces of art always look better than words and a picture is worth 1000 words. I have a bunch of images representing the struggles of addiction that remind me of a lot. I get way more out of them than if I would have just gotten a few words. Just my opinion.

And about the relapse.. don't beat yourself up about it. It's part of recovery and happens to the best of us. All you can do is try again, man.

How about a tattoo of the word heroin in a circle with a line through it. I think that'll do the trick.

As someone who successfully recovered and got a tattoo about it, I wouldn't recommend it. Every time anyone asks what it means I'm forced to stop and consider whether or not I can tell them what it actually means, or if I need to make something up.
Ultimately, and this is a personal thing, it makes me feel like this permanent part of my body shouldn't really be there all the time. And that is a feeling I have with none of my other tattoos.

I have to say it's unlikely getting inked will reduce any future cravings; if you're feeling the need, you're feeling the need. Getting a tattoo can still be a very good idea-it's a great form of self-expression, and it can go you increased confidence if the work is good quality.

Obviously, getting ink with a druggy subject is a bad idea; do you want to be walking around with a trigger permanently marked on your arm? It's important you get something with a deep and personal meaning to you-it will be with you for the rest of your life, so you should spend a bit extra and go with a really talented artist.

I've only got one tattoo; it's a large self-devouring snake on my left hand-an ancient symbol for reincarnation, which is something that means a great deal to me. Rather than opting for black ink (it fades fairly quickly, and faded ink doesn't look good), I went for white ink instead. The effect is very subtle and pretty cool; it looks like scar tissue. When it does fade in time, it will be completely invisible, and that's fine with me, as I'll get another one in the same place. (Probably an Egyption Sacred Scarab-also a symbol of rebirth.

OP I wish you the best of luck getting off the gear.

I looked into white tattoos and I don't like how some of them look like scars. I was trying to cover up my small track marks even i get questions about it and i tell them its a birthmark.

Don't get a tattoo about your sobriety or heroin or an inspirational quote. I know it sounds like a good idea right one, but just don't do it. You WILL regret it down the road I promise. Every time someone sees it and asks about it you'll have to explain it or at least consider explaining it. It sounds like a great idea now , but it isn't.

Instead, of a tattoo do the following. Get your self into an NA AA room, find a sponsor and build a support group that can help keep you clean. A tattoo can't tell you that using is a bad idea. I know people who have done exactly what you're thinking about doing and they all regret it, all of them. You'll look at that tattoo and then you'll rationalize using. You'll feel like shit about your failure and weakness of will and that tattoo will cement that feeling when you look at it.
