Those experiments don't prove that consciousness is a product of the brain, all they say is that it appears the brain is an essential component needed for consciousness to manifest, which in itself is debatable..

If the brain is a receiver for consciousness, much like a radio receives radio waves, then consciousness wouldn't be dependent on the brain. When a radio is damaged and is unable to communicate the radio frequencies it receives, we don't believe that those radio waves are dependent on the radio's existence. The brain and consciousness could function in a similar manner.

The earth I would not assume to have enough gravitational pull to re-attract the, if any, substance a soul; nor do I believe any object to have that capability for that matter. The love and fascination with the earth seems plenty enough to compel someone back to re-experience. I would only consider myself a "substance dualist" to the extent of how I apply the theory to myself, but to consider myself to be that is even further divination...

The shape an object takes over time in the most simple form, such as a rock will determine its use. One might need a rock to create an arrow head with, to start with a rock that is round and much large then needed would be a waste: a waste of time material and effort. This distinction begins to promote progressive thought by understanding the value and beauty in the differences amongst each other, respecting the uniqueness of ourselves and what is in our surroundings, accepting and understanding the variety and value of all life as the only constant that singularity becomes sustaining in much expansive sense. If for what ever reason larger then needed rocks were used to create arrow heads, those larger rocks that would of been perfect for lining a net to allow for it to be tossed would be lacking, and after the nets discovery that lack of rocks of a particular size would influence the size of the net by establishing the counter weight used to toss the net in the first place.

Perhaps the spine is more of an antenna that largely incorporates the chakra system, the brain is more a receiver/transformer that begins processing information.

The problem is how simple this stuff really is, and how much trouble avoiding it has caused.

People a few thousand years ago were able to understand the bodies electro magnetic field, here is a random .eu link to scientific studies about the necessity of understanding this function as the greater function of life in general.

We are in denial because these things have been told are new-age snake-oil for so many generations.

there is a whole lot of good info out there, science can tell us more then we are allowing ourselves to accept.
