I am entering my 50s and have been using drugs for about 30 years now.

During my 20s and 30s the use was recreational, not every weekend but close to once a week on average. It was generally on long party/rave sessions of 12+ hours of polyuse, generally mdma, ketamine, speed, coke, sometimes psychedelics. Alcohol as well but not heavily.

During my 40s the use became more regular. Life as you grow changes and I stopped partying out regularly but I developed a habit of using at home every fri/sat afternoons/evening. Recently it has creeped into some weekday evenings too. Usage now is mainly ketamine and cocaine always together. I use about .7g of coke and between 1.5 and 2g of k a week.

I have a highly functional life, a demanding well paid job and a family. My wife knows i use but not to what extent. Usage is not really affecting my family or job and i can keep that under control. I have never had any health problems but in the last years i am increasingly concerned about potential damage of this situation. Health check results are however relatively fine so far - i live a pretty sedentary life though which I know its not good.

The point of this post is exchanging experiences with others that are or have been in the same situation and how they are managing it.

I like my life as it is as I found a way of combining family/work with using and I do love my regular sessions.

On the other hand i am concerned about finding too late of potential health damage so I am interested in talking to long term users and hearing about their experience.

I am rolling into 40 and i was an INSANE partyer in my 20s/30s, still tickin/still testing well - Im 39, with a bit of similar pattern. I have opioids in there as well for chronic pain issues. Managed drug use can be fine(relatively so, read full post) if you have a decent jot of willpower. -- I will say -- cocaine in your mix is the thing that should go, if anything. It is genuinely cardiotoxic
(https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/ar...is the most,left ventricular hypertrophy [54].)

Harm reduction is exactly that, reducing the harm over time. so of the substances you hae mentioned - cocaine and booze are the two that will truly take a toll. what is the weekly dosage for ketamine? if it's one session, under a gram, used nasally and good material, that is relatively safe, the issue with it is kidney/renal. I would keep an eye on kidney/liver function and tamp down the coke and the booze. but other than that, I think you are describing a relatively safe use pattern. but gotta remember to - relative to people smoking fent on the street. harm reduction is exactly that - you cannot eliminate harm, and even a tiny bit does pile up over time, but yeah, tobacco, speed, opioids, benzos, cocaine, some psych meds those are the ones that are S tier damaging.

after 50-ies.....the last effort to jump from the train....better late than never....u...all of us must got enough strenght to endure the shit that is comin'....not a good times to be an addict at all....some say'no brain,no pain,...no fear'......others-'no pain,no gain.....suffer here-rest on the other side

Thank you for the message. I dont really drink alcohol - maybe a beer sometimes but most of my sessions are dry. Ketamine, its less than a gram per session, two or three times a week - no more than 2 g per week. Cocaine I know is the one i should really quit. Its funny because i was never a fan when out partying, it added nothing to the mix. But now that i dont do mdma or psychedelics due to their long duration i really enjoy mixing a bit of coke in my K.

Stay safe

I get that, however, i would say it is the one really dangerous thing long term in your cocktail. maybe get a DMT pen to hit while on the k to make it spicier? or pursue another stimulant - a bit of adderall or something that doesn't have long term cardiotoxic properties.

Sorry off topic here. Only 35 so I can't add anything for you here. But I see you mentioned ketamine and cocaine together... which I'd a combo I have been seeing quite regularly marketed on the web and other places.... is this a good mix like that?

Anyway apologies for the derailment.
