regional slang

Southern slang/dialect (aside from the obvious like fixin, yall, etc.)

-Accenting the first symbol of 2-syllable words. "Well, SHE-yit," "You go to TU-lane or CLIMP-son?"

-Much slower speech, and much more emphasis on greetings. E.g., instead of just "hello," often go over the weather, how your day's gone, etc.

-"Well I'll be..."

-Most conversations revolve around college football

New jersey is clearly not in new england lol. just like cali aint part of the south. yea its in the southern half of the us, but its so different and not like that at all. NJ is nj. NJ aint the shit of new england. New england is the stuckup, uptight, sucked in, impacted constipated bowels of new jersey. ;)

I wasn't trying to say NJ is part of New England .. I'm saying they are the toilet of New England in where they are located and the shape of your state is hilarious on the map because, come on, it really looks like it..
Western Mass is heroin central. Conneticut is where the yuppies live. Vermont and new hampshire - and maine especially - is hick central. RI, provicetown, that is like the san fran of our territory and I shun them. But they got the ill prices on dope, even tho I've been chilling on that - 20k savings went to zero. Aint cool.
And NE, it depends on where you go.

I know you might hate mass but there are places you would like. If you were in new england you really gotta check out western MA. There was a documentary I saw on how New Bedford I think had the worst epidemic out here when it comes to dope (it was an HBO documentary I watched). Sounds very familiar to your area. I think our states have a lot more in common than you think. A lot of the dope that gets here is either from RI or NJ. Western MA gets the NYC dope. Always the dirty brown powder. Love it. I know it's the same in your area so you can relate I'm sure.

But, hey, The map doesnt lie lacey.

The dirty brown is the powder up here, good quality and slang name .. gotta keep it low key, ya know? Goood quality shit, especialy in Fall River and western MA, Lowell like I think I said. Heroin central of the commonwealth.

The raw is the good stuff, that's available too. Fuck if I am going 150 miles for that shit.

I've lived in both New England and New Jersey. Other than the industrial wasteland around Secaucus, the landscapes and architecture in NJ looks pretty similar to the New England states. It's equally as old a place. I could see somebody passing through thinking they were part of the same region.

But the people are nothing alike at all.

Anybody can move to Jersey and get in with the locals, as long as they're tough and ambitious, and good at cutting corners without getting nailed. Nobody gets in with the locals in New England, especially the 3 northern states, unless they're from there, pretty much.

Any self-respecting New England native would gush soda out their nose at the fucking SUGGESTION NJ or NY were a part of them or anything like them.

Thats true about NJ tho, MDAO. Jersey luv is its own thing. Im sure everybody seen that chain mail like

in the car refers to getting high, sunshines are hydromorphones, down like 4 flat tires, grey cards are oc 80's, we will refer to whatever we happen to be getting high on as dope(simple)
 
People in Portland, OR also say "hella" a lot - it's my favorite word :)
People in Oregon say "spendy" to describe something expensive - ie. "that place is kinda spendy, man"

Back when I lived in Connecticut young people would say "kick ass" a lot
 
Somethin I never heard til I moved down to cincy was "mass" like as in "theres mass people in here" or "i smoked mass weed last night"
 
does anybody else come from somewhere that uses the word "twos" as in "I'll have twos on that" in referance to having a bit of someone else's cigarette?

we also say "can I crash a fag off you" crash meaning steal and fag meaning cigarette (not faggot. lawlz.)

"assed" as in "your assed" or "nah i assed out" aka. tired or too drunk.
"tanked" "sloshed" "wasted" "shitfaced" a few for: got drunk. never say "crunk" unless your 12.
"beast" milwaukee's best, "dude they can do a hell of alot better then this shit"
"nats", "natty", "nastys", "nastyice" natural ice, another gross beer
"hella" and "take it deep" someone might still say it, but its more of a joke.
"tell-me-why" example, "tell me why i found this asshole sleeping in my car, tell me why" it rhetorical
"you wont" and "i bet you wont" accompanied by "do it pussy" egging someone on when their pussyfooting or when their gonna do something extremely stupid without realizing it.
"whooew" i wont even get into this one, its more something you scream out your window
"flagged" as in "theres a flag on the play" aka. a party foul, spilled beer, bowl, powder, etc.
"___-dick", adding dick to anything. "tacodick" for tacobell. "quickdick" is quickcheck, etc.
"cuz" kindof a riccan "bro". this word is a disease because i'm not your fucking cousin dirtbag.
