i'm in so. cal and i use "i'm good." like when my friend hands me the bong and i'm too high to smoke anymore i say "nah, i'm good."

i also say "what's good?" instead of "what's up?" "what's cripulatin'?" is something i stole from snoop dogg and only use it with my closest friends. if i got caught slippin' saying that shit in some areas around here, i'd get shot!
 
i call a 24 oz can of beer a tallboy. i never heard it called anything else till the other day in the lounge.

Na na na. Correction. YALLS slang is like OURS lol. Iunno what the dope got to do wit it tho. I can assure you tho....I think that is just some standard east coast style shit....becuz of the other mass. slang i seen in here, we aint got nothin in common.

You dont know yo, I really hate Ma. aint no way to compare my NJ to that state.:D

Someone probably started it when they were young and had to worry about parents or teachers, so instead of telling them "We're about to go smoke some ganj'," they probably said "We're going to play with Herbert, the new kid in the neighborhood" or some shit like that.
 
^^^ Yeah using people's names for drugs is a pretty safe way to avoid detection, until they become commonly known, like Mary Jane.

I read once that your dialect of English is one of the hardest for people from other areas to understand, and preserves more things from Middle English than any other dialect. You're the folks who still use the word 'nesh', aren't you? A lot of quirky words like this are not recently made-up slang at all, but rather words that survived from much older forms of English, but only in your area. 'Gerra way wi thi' is not far from 'away with thee'.

Okay, I'm not too sure wether this is excluse to this particular area of PA, or anywhere for that matter, but I've never heard of it before I moved here.

In NE PA, a white trash person is called a "cutterman."

For what reason I don't know. Anyone else ever hear of that?

also i don't know if it's regional, but sometimes we refer to a phone as a horn.

im from the NW washington/ Oregon i dont know why some people say "WARSH" for wash and "WARSHINGTON" for washington. fucking wierd. but we mostly get the cali slang that heads north.... hella, tight, fire, dank, "THIS FOOD IS HELLA DANK!!!" everyone is either a hippy or a gangster...
 
"hella days" for a long amount of time. I hear it, and I hate it...it sounds so stupid sometimes. Like if your friend goes to pick something up and takes a long time, "damn, he's been gone for hella days!". I'm in the bay area, but I wouldn't call it actual bay slang because as far as I can tell only super-white kids in rich suburbs who wish they were gangsters say it...someone can correct me if I'm wrong though.
