I don't know what it is,probably a combination of cash flow and just sick of the game but I think its time for me to give quitting the gear a real try.
I'm in my 40's now and just am fed up of wasting cash and only ever thinking of gear rather than looking for something better in my life.
I need a change, I was even considering packing a bag & just living rough somewhere but luckily I realised that isn't such a clever idea.
Can't explain it but I just got to give it a go while I feel like this.
Will still pop in to see how you all doing.
Fingers crossed I can do it this time.
Best of luck with giving up Maxalfie!

You sound very determinant & that is the best time to take the bull by the horns & give up! You will save a load of cash & you'll feel better all round!
Since the drought i haven't gone back to daily using, now i only use for about 4 days out of every 14 days, although lately i'm really broke so i've cut back to only using 2 days out of every 14 days. I thought i'd have stacks of cash when i cut back, but i don't really. BUT i'm not in debt any-more, the rent & bills are paid & i have cash to buy clothes/books/nice things!
It took me a while to get used to not using every day, if it wasn't for the drought i would have never done it, after a while you just get into a routine of NOT using, soon it starts to feel normal, you stop thinking constantly about heroin, in time you stop obsessing about it! You'll find other things to do besides the usual getting cash together / searching for good gear / scoring / using.....
I really hope you stay as strong as you are now! Sometimes something clicks in your head & you think thats it, i've had enough, its time for a change! I turned 40 this year & that was a big turning point for me, i'd really love to give up altogether by the end of the year.
So i hope it goes well for you, if you really put your mind to it you will do it! If you get bad cravings don't run out & score straight away, just wait instead, say to yourself that your gonna give it an hour before you score, see how you feel after a while. Hopefully hours will turn into days & days into weeks! If you have extra cash try spend it on something else before you get cravings. Pay off bills or even better buy yourself something nice, reward yourself! Try to keep your self busy going into town, walks on the beach, meeting non using mates, plan your days out the night before & stick to your plans.
Jaysus listen to me! you'd think i didn't use at all, i wish that i could practice what i preach!!!

But you sound like your i a good frame of mind Maxalfie, use that strength to get through this! I think your right to not pack your bags & live rough, its coming into winter you don't need that kind of hassle! Instead spoil your self! Threat yourself to something else besides gear! I don't know what its like were you live, but things have never recovered fully since the drought in Dublin, so is all a big waste of time & a waste of money anyway!!!
I know that you probably won't want to be spending much time on this thread if your knocking the gear on the head, but do drop back in & let us know how your doing! Best of luck mate!!! Take Care!!!
Hi Colourfulkronos!

No i never get head aches while using gear, but i often get an awful head ache just like you describe when i stop using after a few days of constant using. Are you sleeping properly? Nothing worse then a bad headache, would it be a stress headache? Scoring can be stressful at times!
