Does a pharmacy call if you are getting a refil on a script? The script is legit, but I was bumped up to another dosage level by a different doctor in the same hospital (doctor was outta town). I am currently on the higher dosage level, but I still have a refil left on the lower dosage. I am seeing the doctor at the moment, so I dont want to mess things up and refil a script if it will get back to him, but I dont want to waste it if I can get away with it. I also filled the 2 scripts at 2 different pharmacies, so there is only 1 on file at each pharmacy I went to.

maybe! you should have filled the older script first but I don't think you will have any problems

A refill? No, the pharmacy wont call to verify a refill under any normal circumstance, the ONLY REASON why we would call (and we called TWICE in the 6 months I worked there) is if it was for a controlled substance and the original fill date was very long ago.. for instance, if someone comes in with a refill for a Vicodin prescription, the script had one refill.. the original was filled 9 months ago and the prescription was written by a dentist, a search of records indicated that when the original script was filled there was also a script for some antibiodic - whats that tell you? The kid had an oral procedre and was given a refill on the pain meds incase he needed it within a few days of the procedure ... of course it's still a VALID REFILL - just because it's 9 months after the original fill, that doesn't 'automatically' void it ... but the pharmacist called, and the doctor said not to refill it ..

nah, i did fill the older script first... heres the timeline:
1.prescribed #60 2mg valiums with 1 refil, take 2 times a day. (month and a 1/2 ago)
2. went to 1 drugstore, got it.
3.went back for a 2 week followup with a different doc cuz mine was on vacation, prescribed #60 5mg valiums with 0 refils, take up to 2 times a day. (month ago)
4. went to a DIFFERENT drugstore, got it.
5. I have a followup with the original doc in a week, and hopefully will get bumped up to something better, but i dont want him to findout that i refilled a script that I wasnt supposed to refil and get stuck with nothing.

If your goal is to stockpile valium, then your best bet is an online pharmacy. Cheap, fast, and easy.

You'll be fine. It is very rare that the pharmacy would call to verify a refill. I could see if it was a stronger medication like certin opiates. But what your dealing with is a rather weak benzo so you'll have no problem whatsoever. There is nothing like double-diping on a script, it's like a great once in a while gift...
I've been in the medical business working in hospitals, clinics, Dr's offices, urgent care, allergy, multispecialty groups of YOU name it. In Southern California, this is how it works. Am not sure if other countries like Australia are quite as anal retentive as the USA is these days, but since this is my specialty, I'll share a little information.
First off let's suppose that you had your RX valium 2mg #60. Let's say the directions on the bottle read "take 1 twice a day as needed" and the bottle had one refill on it. I'll list some red flags that pharmacists ALWAYS call on.
1. If you have a refill, but you went through the RX faster than the directions indicated on the bottle. For example if you were given 60 pills and the directions said you could have 2 a day max, but only 21 days had passed since your're original fill date. Then the pharmacist by law has to call and get your Dr's permission to refill sooner. If you talk to a live human in the pharmacy staff, they would say, "sorry it's too soon for refill we have to call your Dr."
2. In So Cali if the refill is not refilled before 6 months. Any controlled substance no matter how weak must be refilled in Cali 6 months after the original fill date. Didn't used to be that way, but the DEA is exericising the old sphincter muscle there. One time a Doc gave me 60 pills with 5 refills. I had to time picking up pills just right....not too soon and not too late.
3. If you have insurance, that is another way people get nabbed big time. I swear I've had some idiot fiends with 6 different Dr.s getting all sorts of chemical paradise goodies, but his mistake was trying to get the insurance company to pay. Insurance companies see you try to keep billing them for different narcs, different docs, the computer tells the pharmacist or worse the insurance people chat with the pharmacist. This causes the pharmacist to chat with the Docs and say "By the way Eric's insurance company says he's getting dialudid, valium, demerol, whatever from Dr. Tom, Dick, AND Harry. Will you refill his Dialudid?
The greedy feind gets all his narcs yanked all because he didn't scheme and plan like a smart Rx pill enthusiast.
3. The pharmacist calls because they are out of a certain strength but wants to know if they can substitue a higher strength for a lesser amount of pills.
4. I know for a FACT that Sav-On pharmacies have a company policy to verify ALL controlled substances when you turn in RX initially.
One time this one idiot got an RX from one Doc I worked with for fiorinal. Doc wrote for 10, but the patient skillfully changed it to 40. A week later the dummy called and asked for a refill. The chick got busted because Doc looked in her chart only to find out he originally wrote for 10. Dumb move on her part.
I've seen all sorts of interesting forgeries as well as bonafide Rx's over the years. Some of the forgeries have been comical as hell, but even the bonafide ones get verified if written for large amounts.
If you have insurance and you get RX narcotics and do the mail order plan as opposed to going to pharm...don't ask me why, but they refilled narcotics by mail 2 weeks when normally would have had to wait 4 weeks had I gone to regular pharm in my state.
You can also order narcotics on line. I've not done it, but they make you fill out questionaire, charge $100 consultation visit. They call you on the date you say you'll be home then deny or honor your request for whatever pills. If honored you get billed for the dope and the consulation by credit/ATM. You can also take old RX bottle down to Mexico and buy your favorite drug over the counter.
When you come back over the border, not much they can do if you have Rx bottle. If you don't have an old bottle, then you go see an Doc in Mexico and get RX from him. You're allowed 90 day supply. If you try to bring Rx pills over border with no Rx, and you get caught by the Feds, your toast.
