Refilling a script early

I went thru my monthly Klonopin script in 11 days. Not bad actually. Anyway I wanna refill it....today. I've gotten away with this in the past. I've also been turned down a bunch of times.
So how does this work? When the pharmacist/tech enters the script into the computer, does the software alert them that the script shouldnt be filled yet? Or is it really up the the pharmacist to check the date him/herself?
Also, do they typically call the doctor who perscribed the med and let him know about the situation?

The only really experience I have with this has to do with insurance. I went to pick up a prescription that my mom got refilled too early so insurance wouldn't cover it. So I assume it just pops up in the computer and tells them...but I'm sure one of the many people on here that have worked for a pharmacy can help you out a little more...

If you have insurance then the computer alerts them as to when the next date that they will cover the cost for them is. If your paying cash it usually depends on your pharmicist. Some usually let you refill after twenty days, but, I see you having no chance of getting Klonopin after just eleven days...

jonnypotseed your wrong...If you walk in and say it got stolen they will tell you theres nothing they can do abou it, you'll have to call your doctor...
Refilling your script early will not work unless you've been going to the same pharmacist for years and have grown tight with him...

Thanks for all the advice. I'm not gonna go for it. This is the first script I got from what seems to be a very generous and easily manipulated doctor so I dont wanna fuck that up. Also, this is the first time I am using insurance to fill a script and from what was said here it seems that may complicate things.
"Double counted"? That's hilarious! I am gonna pull the off by 10 or 15 pills scam though.

Sory, yer ucked... for a controleld substances yer only allowed a short grace period - for C-II drugs it's a few days, for other controlled substances you get around a week....
19 days early? No, sorry, just sit back and wait...

I'm going through the same thing now. Only i just ran out today (29). I use to be able to pick it up a couple of days early but now they hold me to the exact date. What bothers me the most is july 2 to aug. 2nd is 32 days. So why won't the dickhead fill it. So now i wait. 4 days of hell. There is no reasoning with this guy who used to tell me no problem i'll fill it early. Now he goes to the exact date, pisses me off.
