I have been taking Adderall daily for quite some time now, to the point where about 60 mg doesn't really even have an effect on me other than a slightly increased mental alertness. I was wondering if anyone has experience reducing their tolerance to Adderall and/or could tell me what I could do (OR) how long it would take for me to approach a somewhat reasonable tolerance. A year and a half ago, it used to only take me about 2-3 Adderall and I'd be up all night runnin around, studying Chemistry, taking care of business. I would like to be back there to a certain extent, although at this point I know that's not a very realistic expectation. Thanks for your help.

DXM won't work. Really no drugs are going to cause a noticable tolerance reduction. Abstenance is the only answer.
How long you have to abstain depends on a few factors. First, are you taking it once or twice a day? everyday I assume? Also, how much are you taking each time (60mg)?
You could notice a significant reduction in tolerance in as few as 3 days or as along as a week. I would guess that 4-5 days of total abstenance would take care of your tolerance. The longer you wait (a week is great), the better the effects you will get off of smaller amounts. I was taking 30mg twice a day (no euphoric effects whatsoever) for months and took 5 days off after a surgery. When I took a 30mg pill the next day, I was pretty fucdup, all day long, shitty comedown, the works.
So you can get the positive effects back, but you gotta stop taking them. Unfortunately, you might have yourself a stubborn habit where you take them anyway, even though you get no effects. (Be strong, its not that hard)
