Redosing at the end of a trip?

Okay so I'm not actually doing this or anything as I have a tolerance right now and don't want to waste what I have, I'm just curious if anyone has done it. If someone took a couple hits of LSD at night, and the next morning, say 8 or 9 hours later, they took a lesser dose, like just one hit, would it bring them back up to the previous peak? I assume it would just prolong coming down, maybe bring them up a little bit again, but I have no idea.

No, not at all. It'd prolong the effects a little, not much else.

If you want to redose with psychedelics it's best to do it before the peak is out.

The later you do this, the more after-effect like the effects will be that you are prolonging. Like an extension of the tail end of the plateau, but not a new peak. Acute tolerance will have set in already, that goes very fast.

Also you will need to take a bigger dose to reach the same quantative feeling level of effect, although qualitatively even then it will not be as dramatic as an actual peak. I'd say that the more impressive the original / initial peak was, the less impressive you can expect it to be the next day. Something like novelty desensitization maybe. :)

We have a tolerance thread where a graph is plotted to indicate what kind of dose increases are needed but I'm afraid it is plotted as a function of time measured in days, not hours.
A day after your initial dose, on average a dose the size of 250% of what you would normally take is estimated to be necessary.

But if you have considerable tolerance that has set in anyway, there is no reason to try and redose all at once, so if you would want to try this, I suggest taking no more than 1 to 1.5 times the dose you wanted to take and about 1-2 hours later see if you are satisfied, and keep going until you are happy.

The result can often be disappointing either way (because some might expect an actual fresh peak, but it's often not really like that), and a lot of people would consider this to be a waste of perfectly good acid. Anyway, if you can get potent stuff for a decent price - I had plenty such opportunities in the past - it can be easier not to care about 'wasting' it.
