Bluelighter
Nothing has ever sounded sadder
Than a piano and a voice
Singing such beautiful words.
I know I could never make you feel
Like you make me feel.
I could never make you ache
Like you make me ache,
Because if I made you ache
Then I could never carry on.
You’re a taste that lingers on my tongue
Like ballet dancers linger in the air.
You’re an outline burnt onto my eyes
Like a sketch on old paper.
You’re a melody wrung from an old guitar
That echoes around my head.
You’re a constellation glowing in my sky.
You’re a swirl of brown hair and grey eyes
That I can’t quite grasp.
I can’t quite hold on to.
You stand high above me
On a crumbling balcony that I just can’t reach.
A balcony that I built.
Tomorrow looks bright,
Tomorrow is always painfully out of reach.
But today feels like a weight on my shoulders
And a tide sweeping over me.
And red wine tastes like loneliness.
(Or is it the other way around?)
EH... i wrote this a while ago after visiting a boy i was just in awe of. And now its over but such is life.
Than a piano and a voice
Singing such beautiful words.
I know I could never make you feel
Like you make me feel.

Like you make me ache,
Because if I made you ache
