I doubt you will get real opium at phish lots, you will get something that was bought out of a high times magazine. As for that big poppy bust, I bet they would of made heroin with the opium if it wouldn't of gotten busted.

You obviously have not been around many phish or panic lots. Real opium is usually quite plentiful on the lots.

riiiiight, along with some mescaline pills and some peyote, you can get lots of "real" rare drugs at those hippy jam band shows... I see people selling red rock opium at those events as well.
Just out of curiosity, do you know how many poppies it takes to yield a gram of refined opium, or how long it takes to grow poppies? (Just want to make sure I'm talking to someone that knows what they are talking about.) Though if you did, you probally wouldn't of said you can get opium at phish lots.

I will explain why opium isn't on the drug market (except if someone grows it and shares it with friends) as best I can.
I can tell you that someone isn't going to bother growing opium to make money for the simple fact that it is too much work for too little profit. Why the fuck would you have a yard full of illegal poppies to get an oz of opium that people would spent 20 bucks per gram, thats $660 for 140 days of growing flowers, probally would take no less then 30 hours of work to milk them, and then of course you have to consider you are risking your ass growing poppies. know what they are missing. Just look at how Doesn't make much sense to me, why not grow mushrooms which are much less work and would yield much more mushrooms as well as money in a 2 month time period. You could also of course grow marijuana and make even more money with just 3 or 4 plants which would also sell alot quicker, or you can just buy an oz of fake opium for 10 bucks and sell it to people that, often times will never even see real opium so they will never much red rock was going around, and your gonna say that it isn't possible. Also, how come all the people I've seen selling opium didn't know shit about drugs in the first place. I don't give a shit were you live, the point of selling drugs is to make money, not to work your ass off for little return. Some might say, well they grow it in mexico, sorry but that doesn't make any sense either. You are sitting on a kilo of opium, which would be worth the same as a kg of good weed, probally around $3,000. There are soo many heroin labs it isn't even funny, that kg of opium can be turned into 400 grams of black tar heroin, which is worth around $20,000-$50,000 in the US. Which sounds better, $20,000 or $3,000? Then you gotta look at the drug market, heroin addicts are rampant, heroin sells itself in every major city in the US, noone ever says "damn I got all this heroin, but noone to sell it to". Opium on the other hand doesn't really have the same type of market. It is a novelty drug that most people do just to try something different that they don't consider "hard". They almost always smoke it with weed and they usually say "It enhances the high." You will never run into an opium addict in the US (that isn't asian). And addicts are were all the money is.
I can see people getting black tar heroin, cutting it with coffee or whatever shit they have in the house that looks like shit and selling it to people as opium to make money. This is what some people from the west might have smoked if they got fuxxored from "opium" but I can almost guarentee that it wasn't real, unless they grew it or had a friend that grew it. I have smoked "opium" 4 times and all times it was fake, but everyone else got high off of it (I am experienced with opiates, they tried painkillers a few times).

yea but i got opium at a phish show, regardless of how rare it is people do have authentic opium,i didnt buy it off anyone or anything i just smoked it with some kids inside the show when it had started, actually i couldnt say if it was real, looked like pictures ive seen of black tar heroin and had a real flowery candy'ish type taste/smell to it, i was rollin at the time tho so it might just have been placebo if it was fake but it made me feel good, anyways tho opium is probly one of the hardest drugs to get ive never seen it anyware in my life ecept for that time even shit like dmt it more available(to me anyways) the opium, your pretty much right tho twigburst you aint gonna be seein opium goin around just not worth it

Real opium doesn't smell like flowers, nor does it taste like flowers. It tastes like dirt; really bitter and it has a chemical like smell to it. What you had was probally incense, as it smelled like flowers and tasted like flowers. If anyone here has ever smoked opium overseas, please post a more detailed description.

^^^ I've smoked opium once, though it was many years ago.
I can't remember much more than the fact it tasted like utter shit. I really hated the tatse. My friends didn't seem to think it was as bad as I did, though they definitely didn't find it pleasant. They thought it was a bit yuck tasting, I thought it was utterly foul. Worked well though. It's definitely not a mellow feeling for one thgat has no tolerance, we got stoned as hell, on the nod and all.

This is true. Most people who think they got real opium (tar) in america didn'. Some people get the real thing but the only way to be sure is to know who grew the poppies.

I may be one of the few people here who has actually smoked "real opium"

I live in Hawaii. In the country. I have a friend who grows poppies. Yes, he actually does. Acres of them.

Well, anyways, this guy makes opium and only opium. He makes it cause he likes it for himself.

He turned me on to some of it, and it didn't smell chemically at all. It smelt sorta nice. Very distinct smell. I wouldn't say it smelt like flowers, but it had a light aroma to it.

Great accomplishment. Im sure there are more than a few here that have smoked "real opium". Ive smoked real opium that ive bought, smoked fresh latex from my own pods, and smoked some fresh latex that i cooked. When i had no tolerance, my cooked stuff was strong and made me nod off. Opium is ok if you dont have a big tolerance, but i dont think its as great as its rumored to be. I much prefer heroin, intravenously. Regardless, I love the poppy plant, and will continue to grow it indefinately, even though my tolerance is too high to enjoy the opium. I enjoy experimenting with growing methods, and try to make the largest pod, with high morphine/codeine content and low thebaine. Ive had best sucess from persian white seeds. The biggest pod ive grown was the size of a large orange, and yeilded alot of latex. So even though i cant enjoy opium at my tolerance, I can at least convert it to morphine crystals, and then make some pretty good homemade heroin (like that russian chyerna stuff).
