Won't all of the phenol esters you suggested just hydrolyze relatively easily?
Possibly. They Will Probably Last At Least As Long As Cocaine.

Didn't Victor James Kapur die in 2017?
What the guy VERY carefuly avoids is that VJK was actually a compounding chemist. So I put it to you that there was NO LSD laboratory. VJK simply ordered the stuff, most likely to Ireland or a European nation where LSD could still be ordered from Sandoz. What the police found was actually VJK compounding the LSD he had obtained from the grey market. Neither Kemp, Owesley (Carghill) or any of the othe cooks at the time could produce pure crytals of LSD tartrate... so it's suspicious to say the least. But then it's two sentences, not a lecture.
BTW the guy goes around giving talks, but he has quite literally no understanding of the actual chemistry. He's been at it for 20+ years that I know of and I object to the fact that it's trivia. Now Richard Kemp (Operation Julie) is alive and well and living in Nepal.
So yeah, back then only two basic routes were known BUT I strongly suggest that Kemp had found an alternative to the highly toxic hydrazine hydrate or sulphur trioxide. Would you believe something as simple as sodium nitrite (seen in images of Kemp's lab)? It's able to form mixed anhydrides with among other things and I think what is germaine to this point is that nitrous acid and derivatives thereof are now commonly used in peptide synthesis.
I don't KNOW if Kemp ever actually used such a route, but it's the way police photographers used images in which they DID suggest sodium nitrite was a key reagent - rightly or wrongly.

Sesquiterpenoid opioids from myrhh oil/resin
curzerenone (left) and furanoeudesma-1,3-diene (right)
Docking analysis showed that these three compounds actively bind to COX-1, COX-2, LOX-1, NF-κB, and iNOS, validating their anti-inflammatory effects.
