Rectal administration safety and help

I tried rectal administration a couple days ago and was incredibly impressed. For some reason, I really liked it. However, I have some questions about how to reduce harm when rectally administering a drug.

First off, how should I go about sterilizing the syringe? At the moment, the one syringe I have needs to be sterilized before I use it again. This syringe has only ever been used twice, and it doesn't look dirty, but I imagine there is a considerable amount of bacteria and other things I don't want to be injecting into my intestines. So how should I go about sterilizing it?

I imagine rinsing it with water first, then soaking it in some Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and then rinsing it again should be sufficient, however, I don't have any rubbing alcohol at the moment. :/ Would it be safe for me to fill a cup with water and then put a small amount of Bleach in the cup to sterilize the syringe?

Or I have an industrial solvent that is used to clean bathrooms that's a mix of 55.17% Methanol, 44.25% Ethanol, 0.33% n-Alkyl (50% C-14, 40% C-12, 10% C-16)(dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride), 0.25% delta-Phenylphenol, and 0.5% sodium nitrate. Would this be safer?

Also what kind of syringe should I be using?

I'm currently using an eye dropper syringe that has the tip cut off so it won't poke me when I stick it up my ass. Is this okay to use? The only reason why I'm using it instead of those syringes you get with childrens medicine is due to the fact that it's a little longer and well....it's all I have atm.

One more thing, is putting the fillers and the pill binders up my butt okay? Or is there safety concerns associated with that? Should I be filtering it?

Bleach is just fine to use as long as you properly dilute it, then rinse off all the way.

Pill binders are just fine up the butt...

The solution you wish to use is fine as long as you properly rinse.

You can use any size syringe as long as you do not use so much fluid that you create an enema.

How much fluid can cause an enema. I've been filling the syringe all the way most of the time - so about 10mL. Is that too much? If so, how can I cut down on that amount but still get all of the pill into the syringe?

typically 90-100 ml is sufficient enough to cause expulsion of the bowels.


10ml is just fine. The more water used the better the absorption.
