For those of you that use opiates but DO NOT have habits in am curious to know the following:
1. What frequency do you use opiates (eg once a week)?
2. Do you feel any symptoms of withdrawal?
3. How long have you been using?
4. Do you inject/snort/smoke?
5. What opiate do you use most?
6. Do you prefer to use enough to gouche/nod or just get a buzz?

For people who DO HAVE OPIATE HABITS
1.What do you think influenced/casued you from going from recreational to addict?
2. What is the longest period since using opiates have you been clean?
3. Do you prefer to use enough to gouche/nod or just get a buzz?

I personaly feel that recreational methadone use casued my previous opiate addiction due to my ignorance of how long it stays in your system. I find that I can use H once a week with no problems and managed 6 years of use without addiction.

For people who DO HAVE OPIATE HABITS
1.What do you think influenced/casued you from going from recreational to addict?
I started using heroin with a few friends now and then. One of my friends introduced me to her friend who then became my girlfriend (at this point I was using about once a week or every two weeks). Well I started to use it whenever I was with my new girlfriend. Well the closer we became the more often we were around each other. Like I said everytime we were together we would use. Well, eventually that turned into every single day. While I probably wouldn't have used it everyday if I weren't with her, I DO NOT hold her responsible in anyway whatsoever for my daily use. I am old enough to make my own decisions, so while it was my choice to do it everyday, I think being around someone else who ALSO wanted to do it everyday was a huge factor.
2. What is the longest period since using opiates have you been clean?
The longest I have gone since turning to a daily user has been 2 weeks. This may not seem like a very long time, but compared to most people I haven't been using for a very long time period either (I started about 6-7 months ago).
3. Do you prefer to use enough to gouche/nod or just get a buzz?
It depends on how much money I have, haha. If I've got enough to buy an adaquate supply I definitely want to do as much as it takes to nod. If I don't have much cash I like to get enough just to feel it and not get sick/withdraw.
Personal opinions:
As far as my opiate of choice (heroin) goes, I think that it's overhyped by the media. I think many people automatically assume it's such a horrible drug and whatnot without knowing much about it. Yes, it can grab ahold of you very strongly if you let it. On the same hand, with some self control you can keep it under control. It all depends on the person, not everyone will get addicted, but at the same time it's not very difficult to slip into addiction, IMO. You just have to know what you're fucking around with, you play with fire and you might get burned, just gotta be careful.

OK This is nothing compared to heroin,... but
I regulary use tramadol wich is not a "real" opiate.
I used to take some every day for a few months (6). I never had to take a "huge" dose, I don't know why but I keep a low tolerance (maybe it's because if we exept drugs I try to have a healthy way of life : many sports, healthy food,...) So I never went over 150 mg a day, wich was very effective to me.
I decided one day to stop. It was not that I had troubles or something but I was feeling that it was slowly getting less effective and I didn't want to increase doses.
I completely stoped and I must admit that it was a bit difficult, I was a bit nervous, aggressive (which is not a good idea in my job) So I decided to call a "doctor-friend" (very good friend and doctor... (usefullllll)) who told me not to stop it but to slowly decrease it. So I took 100 mg every 2 day, then 50 mg every 3 day,... To finally come to 0 mg.
Now I take some when I want to, sometimes 5 days in a row then nothing for 2 weeks... I have no rule exept when I know that I will roll, I stay away from everything before and after.
So was (am) I addicted, I do think yes, it's not a dreadful addiction but even if take nothin' today I know that I will sooner or later.

>Definetly nod. However, I actually want to quit this time, so I do BARELY enough to keep me from getting sick.

I have only a passing interest in opiates, and I've used them for recreational purposes only once -- I injected heroin. I almost fell asleep which annoyed me so I definitely am NOT a fan of 'nodding'.
I have considered using oxy, but the one time I used it for pain (in about a 30 mg dose), I was vomiting profusely for hours (only time vomiting while on an opiate!)
I've long wanted to try demerol, and possibly dilaudid. I would inject, which is in my opinion the best way of doing opiates. The rush IS nice.

fairnymph, they tend to have a positive affect on me, although i havent ever IV'd street H, but physeptone amps and snorting/smoking H and diamorph amps give me lots of energy - in fact i end up being told to shut-up (lol), I do 50x more work around the house and am in general happier.

No habbit so...
1. About once every three weeks.
2. Nope.
3. Three years.
4. I prefer to eat all of the pills I find as the high is more even and it lasts longer, however I have snorted Oxy's before.
5. I can never find a good supply of anything, so what I decide to take sorta depends on what is available. I do enjoy tramadol and morph pills.
6. Catching a buzz is better for me. I don't like nodding out because I just feel like going to sleep, and sleping while high on opiates is DANGEROUS.(Your breathing and heart is already slowed when you sleeep, and opiates can further slow down these rates). Play safe.

I DO HAVE ÔPIÂTE HABITS
1. Suddenly - although I never used more than 3 days running, and could make weeks go by without -Î was physically addicted. It happened after quite a few months, but I have never been able to go back. Cause no matter how seldom Î did it, or how disciplined I was, Ì got WD always, even after one lousy shot.
2. After 6 years of use, 7 months clean. Every minut was agony, until I could stand it no longer.
Not because I longed for the high, but all the time depressed, anxiety.filled, aching etc. The first shot after 7 months was heaven..
3. Neither nod nor buzz. After decades of different opioids all you get is not being sick...

^^^^^Yea....but not sick is a cool thing.......
After the initial rush, I have a sense of "ok" and decency. I am addicted though, and only withdrawal when my supplier can't get anymore (besides my PERSISTANT calls). Still, I hate filling my veins with all these pill binders, but I do it anyways.

I am not physically addicted...
1. Ive used once or twice a week for 3-4 months now and used opiates in gernal for a little over a year.
2. I feel very minor withdrawl symptoms the latter part of the day after, mainly irratability but drowsiness, confusion, and decreased appetite and thirst are commmon too.
3. Over a year.
4. Oral.. except oxy which is an oral/nasal combo.
5. Codiene cuz it has no APAP and i still get good effects at the 250 mark. Oxy is rare but by far the fav.
6. I love nodding, but when your struggleing to stay awake its hard to enjoy the effects.. So i dose so that i get like 2-3 hours of wakeful euphoria, then nodding for the rest as it peaks.

1. What frequency do you use opiates (eg once a week)?
Depending on availability, I'd say I average about 5-10 times a month. Maybe.
2. Do you feel any symptoms of withdrawal?
No. The only time I felt anything close to this was after using Oxy, I'd have headaches the next day.
3. How long have you been using?
Roughly two years.
4. Do you inject/snort/smoke?
Crush and lick off a plate.
5. What opiate do you use most?
Hydrocodone/Lortab as well as Percocet.
6. Do you prefer to use enough to gouche/nod or just get a buzz?
I just want to get happy, talkative, and yes, horny dammit. It's the pleasant sense of well-being I'm after.

For people who DO HAVE OPIATE HABITS
1.What do you think influenced/caused you from going from recreational to addict?
Becoming friends with more and more people who used, until I eventually had NO more "clean" friends. Also not knowing WHY heroin was so 'bad'. I knew it was considered one of the most dangerous drugs there is, but I wasn't sure why, especially after I tried it for the first time. I thought "this didn't fuck me up THAT much? what's the big deal?" It wasn't until I became friends with blahblahblah who has been a heroin addict for about 10 years, that I finally realized what 'dope sick' meant. I wonder though--if I had known when I first started (even a year after I first started would have helped) what a strong hold heroin can take on you, how easy it is to get addicted, and how hard it is to stop--if I would still be in the situation I am in now.
2. What is the longest period since using opiates have you been clean?
About 8 months. When I first started using I used 2-3 a month escalating to 2-3 a week. At that point some very good friends of mine (some of whom were using with us regularly) confronted my boyfriend and I and told us we needed to stop using NOW. So we stopped, and then even though we were broken up 8 months later, we both started using again at around the same time. We both became addicts. He has since stopped, and I am going to rehab this weekend (we'll see what happens after my 30 days are up. Although I sincerely hope--I doubt that I will never use again)
3. Do you prefer to use enough to gouche/nod or just get a buzz?
I work a lot, so I mostly just use enough to get a buzz--or enough not to get sick. But when I get home or have a day off I definately try to go for the nod.
***aloowishus---how the hell can you not be a addicted after six years??? You even use needles!!! That is THE most amazing thing I've ever heard! You must be a very strong person! What is your secret??

1. 2-3 times a week for 3 weeks and then off three months.
2. Very slight. A little difficulty sleeping but worse is the feeling of boredom when not high. Goes away after about 10-14 days.
3. Just more than a year.
4. Crush and swallow. Tried snorting more than a few times but it never felt any better.
5. Oxycodone.
6. Buzz.

thurgood nobody plans on getting hooked bro, it just happens. i started out recreational. which turned to addicted. i could go on for hours.
i started out doing it once a week. then that ended up to ed. this was in a 6 to 9 month period.

KRISTOPH-
I can hear what you're saying man...I'm not saying that anyone plans to or wants to get addicted. Actually, I agree fully with what you said. I was the same as you, just in a shorter time frame. Within two months of first trying H I was using it daily from then on. To go back to what you said, personally I didn't mind when I was using it daily for a while...but eventually I saw the negative effects of it, the parts that would push most people away from it. Once you have to experience being flat broke all the time wanting that next bag so bad, doing anything to scrounge up some money, it begins to hit you that it's not something you want for yourself (at least I hope it does for most people). Anyways, like you said, I could go on for hours about this, and I'm just rambling at this point, sorry I'll save it for another thread and let people keep posting their experience.

i agree thurgood. it definetly sucks. even if you have it everyday, your going to run out or your supplier will. then, your sick and missing work and all that bullshit.
it was fun at first, then it got real shitty. i didnt do anything before i got my fix or pill. my day started once i did my oc.
