Recreational Methadone and other drugs

This is my first post and I'm sorry to start a new thread on methadone, though i didn't want to trash the MMT threads.

I took a small 20mg dose of methadone at midnight last night and am still feeling the effects and can only be horizontal. I'm not a frequent opiate user so I would say I'm experiencing a good first dose - minus the nausea.

My question here is this...

How long should I wait until I take another drug (amphetamines)?

How many of you have tripped (LSD) while on methadone? Did the smackie feeling affect your trip much?

I frequently take amphetamines with opiates. Especially if I am too stoned and need a bit of pep.

As for tripping on opiates, it is possible but I don't think it is ideal. From my experience one will generally outway the other. I prefer to opiates on a trip comedown to relax and take away the real burnt out feeling.

Thought I might add that I have never done methadone and my opinions are based on H, oxy etc. maybe someone with more knowledge on methadone can help you out.

It is NYE and if you are still feeling way out of it and stoned from the methadone I still think some speed will be a decent option later on to get into party mode.

Firstly: Regarding methadone, in the interest of harm reduction, be really careful with this drug if you have no opiate tolerance, it's a very potent opiate and can easily lead to over-dose, particularly since it has a really long half-life. It's really not the best opiate to be playing around with if you're new to opiates, it also has a really harsh addiction potential with brutal, drawn-out withdrawals.

To be honest, you're better off just taking some heroin: Shorter acting and much easier to "come-off" if you have a binge or something. Likewise, bupe is a much safe option than methadone if you can only access those types of opiates.

Regarding tripping on opiates: I think it's a pretty good combination if you want to just have a relaxed trip, I used to take mushies+heroin every now and again, really takes the edge off the trip. If you're prone to paranoia when tripping, then the right dose of opiates can be the difference between an introspective nightmare and having the time of your life.

Edit: regarding amphetamines - I frequently used to inject speed/ice + heroin in the same syringe, was always a pretty enjoyable combo. These days I only ever use H, haven't touched amphetamines in years. No idea how safe the combo is, I know 'speedballs' (cocaine + heroin) is pretty harsh on the system/heart - never did too many of those myself. But no idea how bad speed/meth is in combination with opiates, I imagine it's not too healthy though.
