recreational maintenance

I know that it is taboo on some forums to discuss recreational use of maintenance drugs, but I saw a 'mega-rec.-buprenorphin thread' and thought that it is apppropriate. Help would be greatly appreciated!


SUBUTEX/methadone question..
New member here...

I remember getting very high on subutex (recreationally) years ago with no tolerance to any opiates whatsoever.

I now take 60 mg of methadone at a time, but NO MORE than once a week. (One dose, one day, every seven days)

I was wondering if anyone has an opinion of how long I should abstain from using methadone before taking buprenorphin to:

1. avoid precipitated W/D.

2. achieve a decent 'bupe' high.

48-72 hours. When I was switched over from Methadone (MMT) to Subuxone I had to wait 72 hours because the half-life of Methadone is so long, longer than just about any opioid. Usually the wait is just 24-48 hours but that applies to opiates with shorter durations like ocycodone and heroin.
