Recreational Dosage of Tramadol IR?

In your opinion, what is the recreational dosage of tramadol ir, compared to tramadol xr? I've taken both many, many times and still haven't found a good dosage to get a nice high with tramadol ir's. I usually take 200-500mg of tram xr throughout the day but with tram ir I'll pop 200-400mg off the bat and still won't feel that nice buzz I'm looking for.

I'm pretty experienced in opiates and all other prescription drugs, its just seems tramadol ir are a hit or miss for me.

Tramadol extended-release is superior to instant-release because it allows the liver time to convert tramadol into o-desmethyltramadol. If you want to use IR tramadol, my advice would be for you to stagger your doses. Take 50 milligrams every 45 minutes until you reach your desired dose.

what chrom said. i always use xr tram to help hold me when im out of my usual pain meds early, or loperamide, and its superior to popping a few ir tabs that are equal in dose.
