Make Other Drugs Great Again
Hey guys so I'm an avid reader, been reading a book a week for ten years even in the midst of active addiction, and now that I'm sober & my conscience is clear I'd like to fill my brain with some related reading. I'd prefer actual books and ones with topics about that which we are going through - sobriety, recovery, addiction, etc. Preferably informative & non-fiction but inspirational fiction is okay too. Not sure if there's already a thread like this. Perhaps we could have a SL Book Club v1 The Power of Reading! thread :D

TIA for any good reads!

I found The Heart of Addiction by Lance Dodes to be really interesting. Some people hate, hate, hate him (he's a vocal opponent of 12-step programs). But I learned a lot from the book, especially about the history of addiction studies.

Thanks these all look good so far.

simco I actually began reading The Sober Truth yesterday by the same aforementioned author per your mention in another thread - it has been an enlightening read so far.
