Benzos Recommended pharms for acute insomnia and anxiety

^ indicas don't make me sleepy, just hella lazy. I'm trying to ween myself off bud anyways, I hvent taken a break of more than 1 or 2 days in 2 and half years.
What are the contraindications for trazadone?

What kind of night terrors do you get and are they similar? I have more than insomnia most pills dont work on their own supplementing some melatonin valerian root kava kava and nyquil (or similar) has helped me but as far as long term solutions go thats a very bad one. REM and night terrors go hand in hand try relaxing breathing techniques and taking a kpin later in the day if you can.

Melatonin never works for me. It does induce sleep occasionally, but when it does I have the worst night terrors imaginable. I'd rather be awake, than in a hellish-schizophrenic dream world. Z-drugs bring about the same night terrors.

Benzos are the mist effective so far, other than rapid build up of tolerence and dependency.

Maybe you're someone who will need to be on or on/off benzos for a long time. I am very sorry to hear that the sleep study did not tell you or your mother anything that would help you.

Could I possibly ask for an off-label prescription to an opiate? Those relieve my anxiety and give me quality sleep.

You could, especially if all you would need is something like moderate/low doses of oxycodone, hydrocodone, etc. But I wouldn't count on this for sleep. Eventually tolerance grows to opiates too, so that the sleep quality they give you will decline, or that if you want to discontinue them, crippling insomnia will return.

It could be possible to responsibly use opiates for getting to sleep, I would just be extremely careful to keep your tolerance down, and to still have a day off from the regimen, especially if you notice any less efficacy than you do initially, if you begin using opiates for sleep.

hey loulou, do you have any idea why you wake up so often when you sleep? I have that type of insomnia. I have litlle trouble falling asleep early at night, but I always wake up often throughout the night w/vivid dreams.

As for contraindications for trazodone check out the healthy living section on BL they got lots of info listed in an archive thread. Entheo, tell us more about your sleeping patterns. Do you have trouble falling asleep? staying asleep? falling back to sleep? etc.

I have trouble with all of the above. I can't get to sleep and when I do it's for 30 minutes or less. And once I wake up there is practically no hope of going back to sleep.
My dreams are often schizoid in nature; vividely violent and non-sensical most of the time. I can make no correlation between my waking thoughts and feeling, and these night terrors. They arent based on reality. It's like freddy cruger has infiltrated my sleeping sub concious. I don't believe breathing/relaxation techniques will help as I have been meditating everydayfor the last 4years. My mind is calm at night, I just can't fall or stay asleep or go back to sleep.

I got the same problem as you which is why I am here. I don't know wtf to do other than maybe curl up in the fetal position and cry? Lol but seriously that wont help..... I think eating Marijauna Edibles before bed would help me but I can not afford that every night idk if you can or even want to but that is the only solution I have come up with so far. Oh and possibly maybe some good sex before you go to sleep that used to help me.

You said you had success with triazolam in the past? Why not have a bit of that on hand for especially bad nights. Just don't develop a habit!

Sleep:
Weed will work. You might be able to eat yourself to sleep as well.
Anxiety:
Atrax.

For my purposes, Tramadol fixed both very well, except I was too sleepy. And constipated.

I can't/don't want to tell my doctor that I have used benzos w/o aprescription. Th .125 tablets I had; using two or three, put me to sleep, but that ways before years of benzo use.
30 mg of cyclobenzeprine work occasionally, maybe I should ask for a muscle relaxer to synergize my benzo therapy?

Entheo, Some people have used a muscle relaxer called zanaflex off-label for insomnia. It's an alpha-blocker type thing I believe. Have you tried lyrica or neurontin?

When did this problem start? What drugs if any were you using at the time? Was there a stressful event that preceeded this?

No, I've never tried either of those pharms. This problem has been with me for two or three years. I am a poly drug user so it's impossible to tell you what I was taking years ago. I've been using mj everday for years; along with barbituates opiates/opiods stims and all kinds of psychedelics. Rc's of various classes/families as well.
Like I said, it runs in my family, to a severe extent.

You know its a very good chance this is all caused by the weed. For a large percentage of people weed causes lots of anxiety and related problems especially for people who are already prone to that. I stopped smoking weed a long time ago and it was great for me I was so much more clear headed and had more energy and a lot less anxiety. At least try not smoking a long time before bed because smoking weed for me I couldn't sleep for at least 2 hours after I smoked weed. Altho smoking a lot during the day helped me get tired by bed time but smoking right before bed had me staying up for 2-3 hours after I smoked, and all the other effects weren't worth it.

^ entheo said it runs in the family, so the weed may to an extent play a role in the insomnia, but I doubt it's the cause.
Anyway, try some black bombay or some nepalese hash, you'll feel hammered like after taking a strong benzo ;)

Affasad: bud doesn't cause me any anxiety, and this problem has been long term. I've been tapering off bud for a month now, down to one bowl of chronic a day so I know it's not related to psychological withdraw. I think i just need a higher dose of benzos or a muscle relaxer to help, since my tolerence is up.
Does carisprodal induce sedation well enough to use as a sleep aid?

10-20 mg of IR adderal first thing in the morning. 1-3 mg of clonazepam, 200 mg trazadone, 150 mg lamortagine, and 6-12 mg doxepin as a back up. I smoke 1/2-1 bowl of chron a day, and take a couple stiff drinks a few nights a week.
I think I need to up my benzo dose, to compensate for my tolerence.

And triazolam is out of the question? Seriously, if it is that bad, a healthy dose of that might help. I wouldn't take something like triazolam everynight, but as needed for especially bad nights. Even a high dose of alprazolam might help you get to sleep, but again I'd only use it for those especially bad nights. There are formulations with butalbital (a weaker barbiturate) with only butalbital and APAP, which are indicated for treatment of tension headahces. That could be risky in higher doses as it is a barbiturate, and you are on a lot of other meds. Seconal still exsists in the US, too, but is very rarely used for insomnia. Seroquel for use as needed is also an option, I don't know if there are contraindications with anti-psychotics and the meds you are on, but if not, it is something to consider. I find promethazine to be quite sedating, personally, but again would only work best used as needed. I'd avoid opiates as they can worsen insmonia, not always, but can.

Promethazine never worked at any dose i tried. I can ask for halcion or alprazolam I guess. Butalbital make me inebriated, but not sleepy, even in high doses. I'd rather not take any anti-psychotics if I can avoid it. They make me feel like shit, to be honest. Seroquil never made me tired, even at the highest prescribed dose possible, just gave me severe ataxia and uncomfortable psychoactive effects.

I was thinking of asking for a combo of one of the following pharms: soma, a muscle relaxer, or a strong sedative-hypnotic barbituates, in combination with an increased k-pin dose or switching to alprazolam or high dose diazepam. Your thoughts?
