Hey all,
I'm just now getting into electronic music. I was wondering if you all had any song or artist recommendations for someone who is a heavy metal fan. I like all sorts of metal from the hard and heavy songs to the more melodic stuff.

I've been told by many that I would enjoy dubstep (and I have so far) so any suggestrions in that genre would be awesome but I want to explore the entire spectrum of electronic music.

Bong-Ra
Venetian Snares
Delta 9
Rob Gee
Drum Corps/Aaron Spectre
Front 242
Skinny Puppy
Nitzer Ebb
Ministry
KMFDM
Wormskull

Do you like any other genres?

Look at industrial? For example: KMFDM's remix of Rammstein - Du Reicht so gut

What about drum and bass?

(Pendulum is a pretty big name in drum and bass, but not necessarily a representation of most drum and bass)

Dillinja - Grimey

I'm sure everyone could suggest their favorite artists or genres, you just gotta listen around and find some djs you like and we can then give more specific recommendations.

do you have an example of a song or dj you like?

If you like the bass in dubstep, definitely check out drum and bass, as well as breakbeats and fidget/glitch house/bass house. For example:

Aaren san - Osc Low Nyzz (Blende remix)

AC slater - jack got jacked (jack beats remix)

Kidda - under the sun (Herve mix)

Dj Fast eddie - yo yo get funky (deekline and healey remix)

Some of the artists i have enjoyed so far are Rusko, Skrillex, Flux Pavillion, Bassnectar. But I'm really open to all sorts of genres, the main thing I'm trying to get out of this thread is some music that has similar elements of heavy metal whether it be similar rhythmic patterns, similar key tonalities, the same intensity level or just just any sort of electronic music that some of you heavy metal fans have liked. Also, since I'm a fan of melodic metal too, I tend to be drawn to any sort of music with nice harmonies or cool melodies.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm really eager to dig into all this music :)

The mention of Killing Joke made me salivate. It also made me think to recommend Pop Will Eat Itself.

The Blood of Heroes. Dark drum-n-bass/metal. Bill Laswell, Justin Broadrick on guitar. Amazing album, deserves a bigger following.

Grey Machine- another badass Justin Broadrick side project. Brutal, noisy electronics with JB's trademark guitars. Features Aaron Turner of Isis.

Techno Animal 'Brotherhood of the Bomb.' JB again with Kevin Martin (The Bug). Filthy, heavy electro-hip-hop. Features Dalek, El-P, Toasty Taylor.
