I have just rewatched Mel Gibsons masterpiece Apocalypto. Whatever I thought of his work before this picture had to undergo some #revision. This is a piece of cinema to rival the works of the great western masters, Ford, Hitchcock or Kubbrick would have been proud of this movie. The chase sequence makes the French Connection look like the Wacky Races and is a brilliant reworking of both John Boorman’s The Emerald Forest and Walter Hilll's Southern Comfort and at a Jason Bourne pace. The Coda borrows heavily on, yet inverts in a delightful way that of Planet of the Apes and but maintains a beautiful integrity of it own and all of this in Mayan. The themes of this Movie run far deeper than this and I urge those who have not seen it to do so at once because if there is one thing it teaches us, it is, that there is far less time that you think.

127 Hours.
Great film, a true story about a search & rescue canyoneer who goes into the canyonlands in Utah, USA with out telling anyone where he is going. While traversing through a narrow slot canyon, a small boulder (or huge rock) falls down on him, trapping his arm against the side of the slot canyon. After all hope is exhausted he is forced to amputate is own arm with a pocket knife. Awesome exhibit of perseverance and mental strength.
