defo watching it, doesn't look grim in the way Dead Man Shoes but perhaps better :)

oh yes, mike leigh is probably one of my top 3 directors.

As far as Mike Leigh goes, the only film/play I knew of his was Abigail's Party. I pretty much grew up watching that over and over, whilst my Mum and Dad pissed themselves comparing Beverly to my aunt. =D

I have it on DVD, t'is a true classic imo.

Which brings me onto, Happy-Go-Lucky.

I didn't set out to watch this, it was just on TV one night and I thought I'd give it a chance. And tbh, I was really expecting to hate every aspect of it, but it was pretty damn good. :)

Get with the times been head. We've all seen and loved it. ;)

Just don't watch the sequel it's fucking awful.

LOL i didnt realise it had already been mentioned on here. its a great film.

i dint realise there was a seqaul any way i wont bother watching it if its shite then

Aye mate Battle Royal is bound to have been mentioned, popular film like. It's fantastic. There's an American remake of sorts with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vinne Jones in it but with prisoners instead of kids, fucking rotten.

^ I have the dvd and I still have to see it. By the way, bonjour bonjour.

Old Boy is fucking amazing. <3

That fight scene in the corridor. %)

I liked the film noir feel to it too.

Never really thought about it in that way.

I've seen that abomination, it made me laugh no end for a while, so fucking terrible!!!

I watched Goodfellas for the first ever time last night, it was really good. I'm probably the last person on the planet to see it hehe

Goodfellas is great. I saw Mean Streets (good!) and Kings of Comedy (OK) for the first time the other night.

Scum: You fellas seen both versions? I've got them both and know I've seen them both many times but I'm buggered if I can remember the differences. Good excuse to watch them both again :D

Other psycho nutter film of note: Chopper - Trailer. The fella it's based on did a class hip-hop album too =D

Battle Royale: I think I may be the only person on Earth who enjoyed the sequel. Not a patch on the original but that aside I still enjoyed it.

Thinking a film may be on the cards for tonight. Will check my downloads folder but thinking maybe Alice In Wonderland or JCVD. Bit of a random selection but they happen to be to hand.

two versions! very interested, wasn't satisfied with the end of the Scum I saw, wanted to see some guards get bashed :D

though BR2 was entertaining, not utterly shit

Scum was originally a TV film then made into a cinema version. They're probably mostly the same but can't recall offhand.

I agree that BR2 was entertaining - taken as a film in its own right it was fine but it could never live up to the original. I'm kinda glad I missed the US remake though :D
