A young journalist (Eisenberg), a seasoned cameraman (Howard) and a discredited journalist (Gere) embark on an unauthorized mission to find the no. 1 war criminal in Bosnia; they find themselves in serious jeopardy when they are mistaken as a CIA hit squad and their target decides to come after them.

Enjoyed this, particularly liked when I spotted areas in Sarajevo / Bosnia that I had been to and remembered.

Watched The Onion Movie t'other day. Film version of the website (?!?). It was shite but I must admit I laughed quite a bit. Have a thing for those old style fillums that are just a series of random sketches gathered around a title and this is such a beast. There is some (very) vague attempt at a plot but it's so slight you'd be hard pushed to notice. Sketches are pretty hit and miss but the hits hit pretty hard. I was rather stoned at the time though. It's got Steven Seagal as "Cockpuncher!" in it which is reason enough alone to waste 70 minutes of your life on it, in my book :D

I just watched...

The inspirational true story of boxer Rubin "The Hurricane" Carter, who was wrongfully convicted of murder in 1966. Told in a series of flashbacks, Washington immerses himself in the role of Carter with a charged, intense passion. The story jumps around in time, from Carter's troubled childhood, to his arrest in 1966, to his fruitless appeals, settling in 1983, when a group of three white adults and a black teenager dedicate their lives to freeing him. Jewison's assured direction keeps these stories from getting jumbled and blurring together. Even in flashbacks, the plot moves forward dramatically, to its eventual rousing conclusion. Based on the novels THE 16TH ROUND by Carter and LAZARUS AND THE HURRICANE by Chaiton and Swinton.

Enjoyed it a lot, very moving and I've always loved the song. What a story!

i have just watched michael clayton i missed it on release. Very impressive stylish thriller in the mould of mann and sodoburgh. First time director who i will be keeping an eye out for in the future.

^Moral complexity, good looking, strong acting, great pace and structure what more do you want. Plot was a little weak and I normally hate corporate lawyer movies but this was an unexpected treat.

Watched The Room the other night. Highly recommended. A glorious mash of ill-conceived ideas, bad acting and bad dialogue. Like a 90 minute cry for help from a rich idiot (produced, wrote, directed and played the lead).

Check out 'the Flower Shop' and 'drug dealer' scenes on YouTube, and tell me this isn't genius.

so has anyone seen Iron Man 2 yet? very tempted to go and see it in a proper cinema and pay money etc. the first one was fucking ace.

(in before kate says "it's a 'boys' movie" etc.)

Ordered Pump Up The Volume last night which is one of my all time favourite films, i love Christian Slater far too much!

"Mark is an intelligent but shy teenager who has just moved to Arizona from the East Coast. His parents give him a short-wave radio so he can talk to his pals, but instead he sets up shop as pirate deejay Hard Harry, who becomes a hero to his peers while inspiring the wrath of the local high school principal. When one of Harry's listeners commits suicide and Harry- inspired chaos breaks out at the school, the authorities are called in to put a stop to Harry's broadcasts"

Happy Gilmore is away to start on Sky Showcase, which i have never seen and since i'm going on a work golf weekend (even though i've never played!) i felt it was required reserach for the trip

^I really dislike him for some reason, apart from his role in True Romance. Aistill wanna see Gleaming The Cube though. I mean, I love the name itself, and the film looks plain ridiculous 80s trash i.e right up my street. :D

edit:the poster's pretty cool too. :D

I've been trying to track down DiG! but can't find it :\ Will have to try a legitimate source.

Not going to any ATPs this year are you? Last one I went to was ATP vs Pitchfork, had to miss the last day which was shit :(

Last night I watched the most boring film in the world. The Seventh Continent by Michael Haneke. Seen a couple other of his films and really liked them (Funny Games & Cache / Hidden) but this was so slooooooooooow and tedious. :|
