Actually, I didn't think the remake was that terrible. Not compared to some of his finer work anyway.

Hart's War (on iplayer) was rather good.
Was watching it while I had to wait for my script and it is rather grim, but then again war is.
Bruce Willis, Colin Farrell, Terrence Howard, Vicellous Shannon and especially Marcel Iures play great characters well, and the latter (Iures) as Nazi Col. Wilhelm Visser who is the eyes and ears of the whole POW camp plays his part splendidly.
