I just picked that one up along with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Kesey (which meets the OPs tendency toward mental problem novels).
Recently read books I enjoyed:
the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk (you can't really go wrong with anything by Palahniuk)
Eh, there are more because I read like a fiend, but these should do for now.
