Big trip to the library tomorow and I need some suggestions!
Love books on drug abuse/anorexia/mental problems/etc.

Love Elizabeth Wurtzel.
Teen angst good but nothing childish because I am 20. THANKS

Crime and punishment is one of the best books I have ever read, its a bit heavy but well worth it.

or if its your thing anything by Bret Easton Ellis, esp. Glamorama.
 
"Franklin and Winston" by John Meacham. It's history, but that is my area of interest.

Someone mentioned Ellis up there. I say go for the jugular and crack open 'American Psycho' for a read that will make you laugh, cry, and have nightmares. For a more lighthearted romp, check out Kurt Vonnegut's 'Sirens of Titan.' It will draw you in and possibly start you on a meanignless and time consuming mission to read all of Vonnegut's other stuff. Be careful, though - it all blends into a boring casserole of boring noodles with a sauce made of boring onions and tiresome taters.
 
I like Sex and the City. Makes me stop feeling bad for just use women for sex.
 
Doors of Perception, by Huxley, talks alot about consiousness and the use of mescaline, it's a great book by the way.
 
If you like Wurtzel than you deserve to have your library card revoked. If you're going to read crap you should have to pay for it yourself.

I don't have any recommendations for you, because I tend to avoid terrible writing and you seem drawn to it, so our tastes couldn't be more divergent.

Furthermore, I'm a little confused. Why would someone who likes that juvenile tripe claim a desire to avoid childish books?

OK. I'll stop now.
