I have a tablet that I'm trying to identify. Its markings would lead me to believe it is manufactured by a legit pharma company. However, when I look through this companies catalog, hit common search engines, pill identifiers, and even the DEA's list of current and recalled and discontinued medications, this one is nowhere to be found. I live in a very small town, so I have a hard time believing it is counterfeit. My biggest question is: could it have maybe come from a compounding pharmacy? Lets say it's active ingredient was originally made by Watson, would the pharmacy imprint it with a Watson trademark but a different set of numbers? I'm grasping at straws here, since I have never come across a legitimate looking pill that couldn't be identified within 5 minutes of opening a web browser. I'm about ready to call the company this tablet is supposedly manufactured by and asking them but I'm a little leery of doing so. If someone is making fakes of their meds, I'm sure they would want more info than I've got and I don't want to be under that kind of spotlight. Anyone else ever have this problem? I hope this isn't breaking the rules, as I'm not asking for help in identifying a pill, but rather looking for reasons or theories on why a legit looking tablet isn't on record somewhere? Oh, and if it was an OTC med, that would still show up? I know Tylenol does, because I tried it, so I'm assuming if it has a number, it should be identifiable.
