how come cocaine OD has no opiate OD antidote equal? anyone has an idea of what to use in accidental OD on coke?? i google but it says no antidote like opiate OD. BUT benzos seem to be the only way out it seems. besides that, perhaps it says in case of heart attack use high dose aspirin. what about blood pressure meds?? how do you guys deal with the extreme overheating of the body, this is what scares me the most of all!!

My logic insists benzo helps with that too.
Basically benzos decrease firing of neurons, which is basically the reason for overheating in most cases. This effect is not thoroughly coherent, sure, but it has been shown to deliver this effect indirectly to other neurotransmitter systems by increasing firing on gaba-a-receptors. I can come up with at least one study showing diazepam decreasing some dopaminergic activity, if I have energy some day and someone wants that. I haven't checked studies but I am led to believe dopaminergic activity can cause hyperthermia.
Benzos also cause vasodilation which helps body to get rid of heat. Just checked it.

"at least one study showing diazepam decreasing some dopaminergic activity" is that even a good thing? you need dopamine to feel the high. basically benzos kill the coke rush, no? also, why specifically diazepam, as it is slow acting, weaker benzo, compared to some others.
also, interesting finding about benzos and vasodilation wow maybe another reason benzo withdrawal can be dangerous.
