i was physically dependant to methadone, well all opiates really, for about 5monthes.

i was taking 10-30mg everyday. i would skip a day or two every now and then but this was rare..

anyways, when i stopped taking it, i started getting restless leg REAL bad... like extremely. i almost had to go to the hospital.

i have gotten it a few times before this past summer, but it would be 2 weeks after i would take something little, like a couple of 10mg vicodin.

anyways, this is still going on, i'm 4 weeks clean from methadone, (however i've been using 30-50mg of oxycontin once a week, no w/d besides restless leg.)

i have been on 25mg mirapex for 2 weeks. it barely even helps it. i have to take 1-2 of my moms neurotin a night + a HOT bath to even THINK about trying to get to sleep.

my uncle has RLS as well..

could i really actually HAVE rls? or is it stil from w/d?

Sounds like RLS to me.

If you've been just chipping and feeling no other w/ds then I'd say you know the answer but don't like it. What I would say you try is totally quitting the opiates and see if that doesn't stop your RLS.

yeah, i don't experience any other symptom of w/d from oxy except THAT.

and this restless leg happens EVERY night.
&i forgot to mention i have pretty bad anxiety and panic attacks.

maybe it could be contributing? i don't know.

it just sucks BALLLS.

thanks for your input. (:

Both mirapex and opiates effect the dopamine system. I wouldn't be surprised if you were manifesting your opiate withdrawal (both mental and physical) through RLS. Yoga, meditation, and whole fruits are a catch all cure for everything.

Are you on any antidepressants? I was on Effexor XR until a few weeks ago, and I had horrible RLS every single night. Since quitting I haven't had it once. Just a thought, from personal experience..

i was for about a couple weeks, amitriptalyine(sp?) but that was quite awhile ago.. and then my doc first put me on an antidepressant when i brought up the restless leg.. which did nothing but make it worse.

i've been taking .75mg mirapex everyday.. which helps, a lot. but its a pretty high dose for someone starting out and for restless leg. that amount is usually perscribed to a person with parkinson's disease... don't quote me :p lol

anyways, im clean from opiates, its been about 2 weeks since i have been completely. (heavy use its been well over a month)

phenibut will probably be a temporary solution that helps a lot. Its GABA-ergic and will sedate your body nicely.

It is also physically reinforcing/dependence-forming...so if you had trouble with addiction to opiates then you'll hav trouble feeling the pull with this stuff too probably.

Cardiovascular exercise would probably be real good for you too. Brisk walks or bike rides to wear out your physical body.
