When I went raving 4-5 years ago, i noticed that the majority of people were 'trippy' in the morning.

Where as now when i go to a rave, most people seem speedy in the morning.

There are probably lots of reasons, (different types of people go to raves now, and people take a different spectrum of drugs now, ect) but one reason could be the amount of suger free chewing gum consumed nowadays.

The suger free gum contains phenylalanine, which I assume is converted to tyrosine, then dopamine, and then noradrenaline, and so on.

How many packets of this suger free chewing gum would you need to 'eat' to increase the speedy effects of the drugs (mdma, or methamphetamine)

And phenylalaline competes with tryptophan absorbtion through the blood brain barrier so I have read, so I guess by chewing all this gum, you are going to get less seratonin in the long run ?

Anyone got any ideas?

Do the experiment.

You'll need:

  • 2 people who don't know of, or contact each other.
  • Phenylalanine powder
  • Inert bitter powder (to mimic the taste of phenylalanine )
  • Gel caps
  • Homogenising agent (if the above powders are visually distinguishable)
  • Your active; taken as normal followed or preceded by cap*

Ist person prepares samples into caps marking by code those that contain phenylalanine. No-one is told which caps contain which ingredient. Ist person delivers the caps to the second person.

*2nd person notes marking on cap chosen for experiment. Repeat as often as considered safe - or possible! jk ;).

Presto! A double blind bio-assay, the only variable being the quality and consistency of your drug dosage

Maybe you could put some turkey slices into caps as well and see if that has any effect ;)

Sorry...I wouldn't normally but Dr. Beat cracks me up...

The last time i chewed gum at a party, my jaw bones and surrounding muscles were incredibly sore for a couple of days. NEVER AGAIN!

Im going to stick with chupa chups.... except they leave you covered in sticky mess sometimes.. Especially when water is added to the equation.

Well I have never considered wha affect chewing gum would do to you in the morning after. I guess the difference between now and 4-5 years ago would be fairly noticeable because I am sure there was no gum around in those dark old ages. :p I like the turkry suggestion, see if that makes any difference Dr. Beat. :)
