Okay I'm new to this forum and was looking for a bit of advice. I've been shooting subutex for about a 3 years now, which I know isn't something I shouldn't being doing and the dangers that occur with shooting any type of substance into your body, but last night (about 19 hours ago) I shot in my lower left calf, which I already know is very dangerous and is something I try to never do. But being sick and after spending forever on my arms I did. After registering I'm pretty sure at some point I may have slipped out of the vein and missed some, but not very much. Within a couple of minutes a red, blotchy rash appeared over a large part of my leg. It isn't a raised rash but it feels kinda warm and is sore in one area, but not the spot I actually injected into. It's a little bit above and over from there. I've had break outs before from shots but this one has lasted longer than any of the others. I know the potential for blood clots is much higher when shooting in that area and I've been looking at symptoms of them but mine don't really match up exactly to them, but I'm still concerned. It is a little sore but not as bad as other misses I've had it's mainly the redness, how large the area it's on, and how long it's lasted that has me worried. It doesn't seem to be getting any worse but not any better either. I don't have insurance so I can't really afford to go to the doctor, but if it worsens I'll definitely have to. I'm just looking for some advice as to whether anyone else has had this happen. I've already read a few other discussions but all of these seem to be something that has only lasted a little bit 20 minutes-a few hours and mine has been there almost a full 24 hours. I'm so tired of dealing with stuff due to my addiction and am really considering going to rehab I don't want to jeopardize my life for this crap anymore. Thanks in advance to anyone that replies.

Ok, my buddy and I pretty much only IV'd our suboxones back when i was still on it. We both did this exact same thing that you are describing in our arms multiple times. It always just went away but definitely had us worried but I would say keep an eye on it and im sure it will dissipate but might take up to a couple weeks.

Treat it like any missed shot.. warm compress, icepack for swelling, etc..

Unfortunately, theres only so much anybody here can tell you. If you're really that concerned you need to go to the ER.

If it gets any worse, definitely go see somebody... but if it starts to get better you're probably okay.

I hope your micron filtering your subutex...because three years of shooting that shit is really bad for you and your veins.
