Re withdrawal from tramadol?

god it has been hell. My legs are freaking going nuts, TENS units, robaxin, benedryl, hot hot baths, nothing works. I just now read the post about Loperamide. I am always afraid to take it because I do have a gastric Bypass and not being able to SHIT for a week its scary. But Since I do have bad runs from the withdrawal I may try it. I just have the liquid Cherry Mint stuff..............eeewwwww nasty. Havent used any DXM and I cant find any Kratom anywhere. I live in Southern Alabama.

So, If i took 14mg of Loperamide in the morning like you do bpayne, would that not make the RLS even worse after awhile? I can't believe I am STILL going through withdrawals after 10 days. My back pain is killing me..... which is the main reason I took Tramadol in the first place, I have Severe degenerative Disk disease and a horrible car accident, but with no doc or insurance I could only get Tramadol. Anyways, hope your out of the woods bpayne, my withdrawal still has a long way to go it feels like. Also doesn't help I can feel my body has bad potassium Depletion, I will probably to go the ER if i can get my butt up and get some IV Potassium. That deficiency causes your muscles to cramp up, so I am in complete hell.

I wanted to come off tramadol to see if I was still in alot of pain, or if the tramadol was making it seem alot worse. So far, the pain levels have not gotten better, I only leave my bed for the bathroom and thats its. Haven't left the house in 7 days, and I am going nuts. I usually play World of Warcraft but the RLS makes me not even want to touch my laptop.

Loperamide will certainly help your physical symptoms. Start with 10 mg or so, you can take more later if you need to of course. It will relieve most of the physical symptoms of withdrawal, including the RLS(not make it worse), the runs, and the aches and pains.

It'll take about 2-3 hours to kick in, but the liquid stuff may act faster than the pills. I've only ever had the pills to be honest, so I can't say for sure.

I'm not sure what the risks are for someone with a gastric bypass, but the constipation from Loperamide is generally not much worse than most other full-agonists. I've always had a bowel movement within 36 hours at the most, which is not an exceptionally long time to be constipated when you're dependent on opiates. It certainly won't clog you up for a week, so don't worry. You may get some stomach cramping, though.

Okay, so I just took about 8mg of liquid loperamide....eeeeewww still twitching from the nasty cherry mint taste. I am sick and all crap right now but thats to be expected when you have a gastric bypass and you drink that much liquid at once. Hope it helps. I also took some Potassium because my legs are cramping like crazy, and I took some melatonin so hopefully nothing hurts the other chemical. Thanks for all the help. You are the only one's I have to talk to....

No problem. Feel free to keep us updated.

I recommend checking out The Dark Side. It's an awesome place full of supportive people who have either been there themselves, or are going through something similar. Full of great advice too.

Ya know I really want some Kratom, and actually a store that is 15 minutes from here sells it, but i am broke, if only I had someone that wouldn't mind calling and ordering me some, I really think that would give major relief, so far the Loperamide has done nothing. :(
