RC's: Where to begin?

I wouldn't like to be the guy the authorities/"victim"s family come looking for when someone overdoses or has a psychotic episode after taking something they haven't researched (no pun intended%)) properly.

Are you learning about this stuff to help your ex as well as yourself?

Oh, yeah. There's more awful to this story than I can totally touch upon, but shady doesn't entirely cover it. One kid, who was living with my ex, nineteen, full ride to a great college, etc...well, he developed psychosis and ended up in the psyche ward. This was a month ago. He still hasn't come back from it. His parents had to drive up from out of state to take him home...I don't know exactly if/when he will be okay.

This is where my paranoia really started to get the better of me.
And I know this dude...I lived with him for two years. I'm not trying to learn to help him out. He's a dangerous person.

However, I have friends, and roommates who are all, "Oh there's acid going around", and because there hasn't been a reliable source in these parts for a long time, and now things are resurfacing, I get the impression that this is where its coming from. And its a small enough place that the likelihood is high.

So telling other people that things may not be as they seem, seems like something that I should do when they bring it up. Or they could end up like kid above.

And keeping myself informed and safe is the utmost importance. I like my hallucinagens three or four times a year, with the fourth of July being a big one, Halloween and New Year's. Generally not more than that, though on occasion I have done them more than that. For some reason, this is very important to me...like, its ritual or something, and I can't totally explain that, either.

But I don't want to take an unknown, in an unknown quantity, with unknown effects. And because its happened, and because I know it came from my ex, I don't trust anything going around. But the heart wants what the heart wants, and the 4th is coming up.

So doing a little research seems smart. And finding a more reliable source seems smarter. And knowing what the hell I'm putting into my body, where it came from, and that it is what its being sold as, seems like the safest bet of all. So if I do a little reading, and happen to become interested in something down the line, then I'll have the information to make that decision. It was just where to even start doing that reading/learning, because like I said, it all just seemed like numbers and letters with no coherency.

But this thread was really helpful in that. And the people who replied were pretty informative as to which direction to look. And this reply was way longer than I intended.

Is there such a thing as a safe RC?

Probably yes but the moment we know that, its no longer an RC. If you are into psychedelics, read up on 4-AcO-DMT and 2C-E, these are among the very best and likely among the safest, in normal dosage.

Perhaps you'd like to read through this Safer-Research-Chemical-User-s-Guide as it brings up a lot of issues relevant to research chemicals (and street drugs, for any new batch should be treated as if it was a pile of an unknown powder, which it basically indeed is.)

I've been using RC's (formerly known as designer drugs) for a couple of years now. I did a shit ton of research first: on here, Erowid, and other forums. I identified several compounds that sounded promising, then focused my research on these. I especially looked for bad experiences so I could see where people had made their mistakes. Finally I went out & found vendors for what I wanted, then tried to confirm their reliability. Upon finally getting a product, I did a small allergy test dose, then carefully titrated up with slightly higher doses (over a period of time) until I found the level that's right for me.

Just be smart, read all that you can, and DEFINITELY use a decent milligram scale! RCs are fun!

I wrote most of the Beginner's FAQ to answer exactly this, or at least I covered it as one particular question and then elaborated on this question of what to do next. I meant it to intertwine with the design of PD as well because of course we have this as our only basis of helping out and supporting.

So please visit this Beginner's FAQ using the link in my signature at the very bottom of my post. The question of where to begin is meant to be answered by linking the different posed questions and answers together, not in one single go. So don't stop reading too soon.

If you still have questions, please ask them here so that we may try to help you all of us together. Then the resulting information can be added to the FAQ to make it more complete.

Thanks!

I became interesting in RC's by being introduced to 2C-E by a friend. I would highly recommend 2C-E because it was easy to control even through it was my first trip ever. The most important thing about RC's is having a miligram scale. A lot of these compounds are highly dose dependent so you will need an accurate scale to measure out the dosages.

Re: "Is there such a thing as a safe RC?"

The dose makes the poison, and inevitably some people will end up having adverse reactions, so it's really hard to tell.
