Had so many w/d's from etizolam; living hell.

You get through them? or still going through em?
I'm through em, they were worse than any benzo wd i had ever had.. "but etizolams not a benzo" damn right its not.
It's a one way ticket to feeling like you're dying once hooked and come off, that's what category of drugs etiz is in.

I'm maintaining on phenazepam slowly lowering my dose, i dose 6mg as either 6mg in the AM and it hold me for 24 hrs, or 3mg AM 3mg PM..
i lower it by .5-1mg every month.
I'll get off em someday, been on benzos for almost a decade.

I'm off them after my 5th thienodiazepine w/d which nearly ended me (they really are a class apart from your standard benzos). I still take them from time to time for comedowns, but the horror of those weeks of writhing in bed, soaked in sweat and borderline psychosis have damped my enjoyment of them some.

In some ways, yes, I would say that even a full year after I stopped habitually taking etizolam I'm still (in some senses) withdrawing.

Take it low and slow man; I was only on them for three years and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though :)

It can make your mind work differently.
Not necessarily bad, but withdraw in that case will take ages, as it´s a behavioral change.
Quite a challenge I suppose.
I wonder if you could still use Valium to taper down, temporarily I guess.
You may be experiencing extreme anxiety, besides restlessness which is hell as you can´t sleep.

It would be helpful for other's if the people describing awful withdrawal symptoms would post their schedule/dose per day and for what length of time. If I took more than .5mg I would personally fall asleep. It becomes murky when trying to decipher the safety profile of a substance when dosage/timescale is unknown and taking into account the majority of people who researched this substance had a history of anxiety to begin with: most likely making their withdrawal that much worse.

With etizolam I was about a year and a half at 6-10mg/day everyday.
That was when i was at the peak of THAT addiction.

Beating that addiction was harder than opiate addiction + the 10mg/day clonazepam addiction I tapered off of in the course of about a year.
I was on a 10mg clonazepam taper because i had been taking 20ish mg of high purity phenazepam a day for a year in addition to my RX'd 4mg clonazepam.
I was on at least 4mg clonazepam for a decade.
That all changed when my Dr moved and i got an anti benzo psychiatrist.
I gotta do it all on my own now.

three years, peak consumption of etizolam was around 10-15mgs a day. i even used to wake up, take 3 tablets and then fall back to sleep.
etizolam is distinct in how short its life-span is and regular users often find multiple re-doses a day are necessary to avoid rebound anxiety and/or withdrawals.

tl;dr not to be fucked with
