Raves; what's your opinion?

Free parties on beaches or in fields = cool.

Clubs & bars people call raves = not so cool.

Small outdoor bush raves. Rare to see anyone under 18 (in Australia anyways) as they can't drive there. Great music and atmosphere, minimal to no seediness.

QFT. I have this conversation at least once a week:
Bellend: I went to this FAT rave the other night!
Me: Ah, wicked man, where was it?
Bellend: At [insert name of club], it was a sick night! I got like well messy.
Me. Oooh, you went clubbing.

I don't know where you guys live but i've never heard of a Rave going on here in the USA, at least where i live.. Do you guys live in Europe or something that go to raves?

eh, maybe its just cuz i never enjoyed the effects of XTC (mdma)...

To JahRed:
I'm sure there are raves in your area you just haven't found them. They are all over east to west. I used to rave ALOT back in 05 to 08 in Toronto, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo. In the beginning they were AWESOME I loved them. Now I'm a super jaded asshole but I'll still attend some every now and again. Love that ketamine!! and electro house and psytrance for that matter

I personally enjoy the ambiance of raves. Love the techno/house/trance genres. Both watching and performing light shows (glowsticking/glowstringing) is fun too.

Legal/Illegal raves both have their pros and cons. Legal raves you don't have to worry about cops busting but it doesn't have that underground, "exclusive" feeling warehouse raves do.

Of course, going to any rave sober is a no-no. Have to make sure to be under the influence of MDMA, LSD, and/or 2C-B to fully enjoy the synaesthesia of the music and light trails!

Haven't gone to one in a few years though, but can't say it's my top priority either. You have to be in the right mood for something like that.
