    Welcome Guest!

Rave culture?

Raves here in Toronto are still going strong...

At raves, E is a lot better cause of the top notch sound system.... It is so awesome "feeling" the music rush

I'd have to agree with some of the other posters that raves are alive in well in Canada, at least in British Columbia.

Not quite two weeks ago I was in a forest in an isolated valley surrounded by snow covered mountains dancing the night away to mindblowing acid trance with a crowd that still has the spirit of what a rave is all about.

i love raves. its got the lightshows the mad amount of people and you always hit it with your whole crew which can go up to 30 people you know then there are the usuals you meet. its more about getting into the music and stuff. house parties are all about getting in touch with another. both are all mad fun

If you haven't rolled at a party yet, you HAVE TO!!!!! Maybe you will like more, maybe less, but it's worth trying.

PRO'S: Live music, lot's of etards to play with, huge area to dance with, new friends, learn new blow up tricks.

CON'S: Jaded ravers who bash on kids who roll at parties (even though most of them use to do the same thing) and are obviusly having less fun than those who are rolling.

Undercover cops (yes, they are there!!!)

Really overheated venue

Fuck head vendors who charge $3.00 per bottle of water.

This is the funniest thread ever! Think about it: you are trying to argue what a rave is. There is a simple answer to this question and I'm going to lay it all on ya. Here goes: A rave is a party with techno and ecstacy. Anyone beg to differ? This is hilarious....keep it up!

I dont listen to shit techno=D

I dont listen to techno at all, at a rave i'd probaly enjoy it.
also, i never thought of undercover cop's before, thats harsh

I'm not trying to scare you, undercover's won't give you trouble unless you try to buy rolls off of them, and as long as you don't have drugs on you; cause you can't get arrested for giving someone a backrub( at worst you'll get charged with being under the influence, a slap on the wrist basically).

Oh yeah, and also watch out for the DnB junglist type(i.e. tweakers) who put down every one else who has fun. You can usually spot them by their sweater's they wear with their U.F.O's. They aren't very friendly:(

The pleasure you get from so many other people loving the same music at the same time in the same room is just great. Highly recomended.

What's new. So long as you don't have a bag full of pills to sell they couldn't care less. They aint' gonna invest that much resource to bust some kid with 2 pills. 8)

Reminds me of the jaded cokeheads here in the UK. Been there done that prefer coke so that makes everyone else a dick ... check the mirror man the only dick is the guy that pays 50 quid to look like one !?

i agree that the rave scene isn't the same anymore (although it's just through heresay). people i used to go raving with back in 01 say the scene (in LA anyway) has totally changed. sure, there's still good music, pills and people who show up but the love that was there before isn't there now. maybe it is because the ravers are jaded but who knows. i haven't been raving since 01 and haven't dropped since 03 so i'm only speaking from experience of when i used to go and what i'm hearing now. :\

i can't wait until Monster Massive this year (i went back in 00), i'm really looking forward to being able to drop and go to a rave again.

why do you guys call it techno..... trance!@!

and i dont like how people set out so much criteria for a 'rave' i mean rave as in electronica , good friends, bad ass lights , LOUD MUSIC , maybe some lightshows and .. some good drugs to really make u feel the music
