I have never attended a rave, I live in a small town, and i have no ride to outside cities to get to raves. I've used/abused ecstasy for 4-5 months now, and i've realized allot the the "magic" is gone. This bothers me because I've always wanted to experience that certain feeling a rave gives you. People say it's a different atmosphere, how is different? I've only taken ecstasy at house parties and I definitely loved it, but I wish I used up one of my early trips at a rave. It sounds like it's such a better experince, is this true? I hate that I've missed out..

I don't know if its "better" just different. Rolling at a rave and at home with friends is both fun.
I like to dance..so for me I would rather go to a rave. Its just interesting to me that almost everyone there is on something. Much different from a club or bar. It kinda gies me a calming effect knowing most of the people there feel the same.
The music is always better just becasue its being played live...

I'd suggest for you to figure out a way to go to a rave. Maybe a different atmosphere wll bring you back to really enjoying your roll again.

Sure, Raves or other events (a good club/music festival) can potentiate the effects of MDMA due to all the stimuli but conversley they can have the opposite effect (not for many I'd guess).
There is a unique feeling of freedom and oneness when you're in a sea of Ecstacy users. I don't think you've missed that much but definately put it on your to-do list.

If you feel you're losing or have lost the magic then a decent break should reverse that. A new experience like a rave will still be pretty damn good even if it's not your first few experiences on MDxx.

Yeap... Canada has fun raves. Iv been too big and small events and have fun.

i still find the bullshit fun :-D

not to get on my high horse... but..

raves might be different now then they were 5 yrs ago, but alot of people new to the drug enjoy the raves out there.

Isn't this drug about being happy and all? No worries and having fun is what it is all about...

rave on..........

Depends on your definition of "Rave" and your geographical location.
The London party scene I call "Parties" but they are still in essence raves.

No such thing as a true rave? I humbly submit to you that you just don't understand what on is. For example:

When I DJ for ten of my friends and they each bring a couple of friends, wh have about thirty people (most of us in our thirties/forties) and believe me, its a rave. Yes, I went to Love and Butterfly and a few of the biggies in the nineties, and true enough, five thousand people loving up in the desert is also a rave, but the two things are the SAME, which is friends sharing music and MDMA. There is a special kind of magic when you are around people you have never met, but who you know are getting what you are getting from the DJ and the stars and the cool night air...and that same special feeling can come from DJing a couple right back into a broken marriage.

There are raves all the time. We just keep quiet about them because once again they are truly underground, and truly about close friends celebrating life.

None of us want to fuck that up just now, see?

I really dont think u lost the magic.. just u overabused it... If u wait some time and like "forget" how it felt being wasted on E u will get right back @ track... About the rave thing ive never been to one myself..=)

Its an old cliche that everything was better 2~5 years ago :\

Its the same with everthing...

U could just say.. Without doing any drugs...
When u were a child everything was much better.. its the same if u think the same way i did now :D

I didn't mean it like that! I meant all the "raves" that happen in my area (Philly) aren't like the old days. They have cheesy raver kids, and cheesy music (in my opinion). The "rave" scene died years and years ago....
I guess a "rave" can mean all sorts of things. A true "rave" I would consider is a true outlaw like the old skool days! A fucking throw some decks in the forest, or abandon warehouse illegally and throw a "rave" all night-but (in my area) shit don't go down like that anymore:\

If you live in England there might be good raves left, I don't know.

I listen to d&b and we mostly (American Junglists) don't like being put in the same category as "raves"
I go to parties=D

As i said.. never gone to raves--- BUT ive been picking up pills at those "outlaw" raves(forest) u say :) I live in sweden btw

This is the funniest thread ever! Think about it: you are trying to argue what a rave is. There is a simple answer to this question and I'm going to lay it all on ya. Here goes: A rave is a party with techno and ecstacy. Anyone beg to differ? This is hilarious....keep it up!

I second your comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just roll and have fun.. why put more into it then needs to be...

hated it at a rave. (indoor club) enjoyed the rave, hard to explain, but felt like the pill was a waste.

loved it at home/out with friends.

adored it at a small festival i was at, i find pills need space and fresh air and loud music to be at there true potentional, hot stuffy underground station was closturephobic (sp), uncomfortable, and just felt dodgy.
