I loved the old-school piano riff and breakbeats, but the song was spoilt by that really cheesy annoying groove that all the kids seem to love these days. 4/10.
I love those old-school synth sounds. Reminded me of 'Remind' by Orbital, but not as good as Remind. Still good enough to get a 6/10 from me
As for Pearls Girl, it did indeed come out on vinyl, as did the album it's taken from (Second Toughest In The Infants). If you can find it, I sooooooooo recommend you get the album - its one of my all-time favs. Here's another track from it:
as someone who generally doesn't like underworld, that was great 8/10.
Dilemn - Pressure. my favourite track at them moment. wish the full track was up. the bassline gets fucking filthy after the second drop. the flip is great too actually. it's so rare that you see that these days.
Most of the techno I'm into is on the melodic side of things (which this isn't), but man.......what a sick sick track!!!!!!!! Reminds me of when I saw Richie Hawtin play the last set of the night at a dance festival in 2001 - when only the real techno obsessives were left - this is exactly the sort of shit he was playing - full-on intense percussive techno. I'm gonna give this 8.5/10.
