Rate the song above you: Music that isn't entirely electronic

I give it a 6 out of 10, because i only listened to it once, and i havn't totally swallowed it.
But in exchange here is a GREAT DEATH MARCH of a song. Tom Waits is more Metal, and More Hardcore than all the shit i've seen on here so far.

^That was great 8/10. I did not expect to hear that from Tom Waits, and I liked it the first time through.

^ 10/10! Yikes ... how else could you rate this?!? The album, the song, even this particular TV performance ... a revolution. Sticking with the theme, here's a cover of another classic:

Entrance - "Grim Reaper Blues"

1000000/10!

Groovy song man. The vocals, lyrics, rhythm, dark aura, originality and enticement are just wonderful. That solo at the end is cooler!

Thanks for showing me this group, going to hear more of their beautiful art! :)

How about something different:

no prob, and just to help you out when you look for their more recent work, they now go by "The Entrance Band"

^ok but the first link you posted was the my little pony theme... lol

I'll rate sugar though

6/10 not a fan of system but I can appreciate it.

I was briefly in this band filling in for lead guitar, never recorded anything though.

Ok, first of all that is a kickass song (grim reaper blues), a real kick back to the late 60s/early 70s sounds like some great Psych tinged blues music. Great video as well, fits the song very well, I dig it!

2nd, I dont LIKE to call anyone out like this but Cuhpcakes messaged me after I replied to her/his trip report, and started asking me questions, now If someone asks me about my beliefs or life, I do my absolute best to respond with honesty and a fully coherent thought out answer... after spending hours and hours on several responses, I mention that I am a metalhead and a music fanatic, and Cuhpcakes says she/he is a metalhead as well. Sends me a bunch of bands that seem like she/he knows at least the basics (ie; Iron Maiden, Sabbath, Slayer) of metal music, and I write up another long response with plenty of bands that should have fit his/her taste based on the bands that were sent to me. I specifically chose songs that I thought she/he would like, stuff from bands like Pentagram/Trouble/Saint Vitus/Sleep/Kyuss/Candlemass/Kreator/Sodom/Destruction/InSolitude/Satan/Windhand/Running Wild/Manilla Road etc... So after I spent like an hour+ writing this shit, she/he responds in like 5 minutes saying she/he also likes shit like "Katty perry, lady gaga, fallout boy,k paramore, mcr" and I qoute "he largest Playlist on my iPod holds only My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, 53 songs!" Like what the hell, I recommend stuff like "Death - Zombie Ritual, Manilla Road - Necropolis , Kreator - Ripping Corpse, Sodom - Nuclear Winter, Destruction - Nailed to the Cross" and you respond to me with that shit? After this I had to look back at all the responses to all of my thought out messages, and realized that I was just being taken for a fool the whole time. I allways try to build a relationship with whoever finds interest in the same things I do, but Ive never felt like such an idiot in all of my life should have seen it way way earlier. Biggest waste of my time, ever... Sorry Cuhpcakes but you are some kind of anomaly, please realize that people have limited amounts of time, and you shouldn't waste it unless you want to give them something back in return. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS OBSESSION WITH PONIES, SERIOUSLY COME BACK WHEN YOU GROW UP.

Here is one of my favorite bands of all time, hooked me onto metal like nothing else, the riffs and epicness are incredible. Lyrical themes are killer mostly dealing with lovecraft horror/epic stories. If you have never heard Manilla Road give it a shot, will not regret it.

The deranged ramblings of a crystal addict...

7/10 not my favorite from mastodon but still pretty good.

Some more Entrance Band

5/10 another one that's just a bit too hipster for me. They obviously can play their instruments but it's just not my cup of tea.

Melechesh is an Assyrian black metal band that originated in Jerusalem. Ashmedi started the band as a solo project in 1993. In the following year, guitarist Moloch and drummer Lord Curse were added to the line-up. The band’s goal was to create a type of black metal incorporating extensive Middle Eastern influences mainly based on Assyrian (Mesopotamian) and occult themes (both musically and lyrically); the band invented the title "Assyrian metal" to best describe their type of metal.

Pretty terrible. Why in the fuck was that song 14 minutes long? It goes absolutely no where. 1/10

Just old school type black metal with more focus on creating a dark atmosphere than a bunch of time and key changes. 1/10 seems a bit harsh but you're entitled to your opinion.

We came here to discuss music, not bash on each other for superiority. Keep the comments friendly, please. :)

6/10 I like the song but it doesn't flare my interest. The vocals are hardcore, along with the complex rhythm which obviously express great talent.

Mastodon released an awesome album in 2004, Leviathon! A privileged tribute to Herman Melville's notable creation "Moby Dick" in the form of musical divination! \,,/

Here's a taste, "Blood and Thunder:"

6.5/10 interesting video, not quite sure what I just watched. I've only heard one other Mastodon song, Trampled Under Hoof and I prefer that one because it seemed more aggressive or something, idk.

4/10, didn't like the music but I appreciated the humor(?) behind it

abrasive music, but the lyricist is a fucking genius IMO.

Pretty good for the mood im in. 8/10
