I think animal abuse is evil too. And i still support DMX. Why, becuz I honestly dont believe he did it. Its funny that yall are basically saying "Well the publicity hound, asshole , racist sheriff with a trick up his sleeve says that there was dogfighting, so then it must be true." Cops lie all the time, and Keep in mind: The alleged perp was not home for 2 months before this happened. All it takes is a shitty caretaker and some "Ayo X left the crib for a few months, wanna set somethin up" Etc. and then there you go, add ignorant fools left in control, to a greedy bitch sheriff lookin for attention and applause and then you got this case.

Anyone familiar with dmx's music knows that he is obsessed with dogs and loves them more than people. just listen to pretty much any song by him and he mentions his dogs. This dude fuckin loves his animals, all you ever see is him talk about this. i dont know how to stress it enough to the ones who dont know this, but if you are more than a casual fan of dude you will know this.

like i said in my post before, he got a huge tattoo of his old pit bull that died on his back, hes always sayin he would die for his dogs, loves them more than anything, the only thing he can relate to, and know what i believe that shit. he really loves these pets that he has, and I aint a gullible bitch but on some real shit i really do not believe that he was fightin em. I think its a setup and some dumb ass niggas from the block that he left to run his shit while he was away done fucked it up. X got a shitty reputation. he got a bad rap sheet. he is the perfect victrim, no one is gonna take his word over the cops especialy now when this "JUST HAPPENS TO BE" right around the same time as the shit with michael vick. What a suprise. dont yall see the transparency of the case. For those of yall that aint aware of how serious DMX is about his put bulls, ill make a analogy for ya's -- as far as love for animals goes, this is like accusing PETA of dogfighting.

i think its fucked up that everyone just jumpin on the bandwagon when the facts aint all in yet. Where is the reports from neighbors that he was doin this, where is the animal cruelty charges/complaints from before? I dont want nobody guilty of dogfightin to go unpunished. ^ Excellent post lacey k. As with anything in the media concerning drugs, quite often it is inaccurate. Add on top of that Arizona drug cops (always questionable), and the celebrity element to the story (which is always milked by those involved), and you have a situation that is highly questionable. I don't know if he did it or not, but I sure don't take everything I read at face value.

Exactly, these current charges may well be bullshit but looking at DMX's past rap sheet shows the guy is a walking crime spree. Unless you believe its a conspiracy reaching all the way to merry old England that DMX is a victim of.

DMX has no one but himself to blame if his past behaviour makes people believe a load of bullshit.
 
Truth be told, I hate DMX and I hate his music, if you want to even call it that but I will side with "almost" any criminal over Joe Arpaio.

He lost all credibility well over a decade ago? The constituents of Az must be blind or weak. I think its a combination of both. Hell, the politicians are either criminals themselves or used car dealers. They will never get another dime of my money. Until he is out of office I advise everyone to leave and touristas even considering a visit beeware! I'd rather take my chances in Malaysia.

Speaking of credibility, ex-governor Fife Symington is another winner. I saw him on Larry King the other day, claiming he saw UFOs in the sky and other such bullshit. WTF is this world coming to? Infringement of civil liberties, imaginary apparitions, concentration camps, forced starvation...They may as well replace them with that fake psychic Cleo.

Its like the pot calling the kettle black. Criminals shouldn't bee prosecuted by other criminals. There should bee a higher standard. Or just just toss out all the cases! Yo regardless of DMX's skill as a rapper I think death follows this man. I really don't know what to say about him anymore. I don't know or assume this is true but damn. DMX just has death right on his ass. People really hate this man.

Past crimes have no bearing on whether he's guilty or innocent on future crimes. But, statistically speaking, someone who has committed, or has been charged, with a lot of past crimes is likely to re-offend.

Normal people would serve serious time for DMX's offenses, why shouldn't he? Because he's a rapper and people who listen to shitty music like him? So DMX deserves to get away with all of this because he rhymes about the hood and drugs and killing people over hip hop beats and makes money for it? I don't get it

Drug addicts are just as responsible for their decisions as non-addicts, that is no excuse.
 
Drug addiction isn't an excuse for owning assault weapons - there shouldn't be any laws against assault weapons in the first place (aside from those already on regular guns anyways)!!

And how do you 'not get it' that he gets away with all this stuff? Did you mean to say 'you don't like it'?

Aight, lemme help you out with this one since you seem to be having a rough time.

1. DMX did many crimes.

2. He served jail time multiple times as punishment for the crimes.

3. Those crimes are now done with , since he completed his punishment for them

4. We aint talking about the crimes he done in the past, since that aint what he is now charged with.

5. DMX is now in trouble for a crime that it is highly likely he did not commit.

6. I dont support people getting sent to jail for things they didnt do. I also dont understand why you cant seem to grasp this concept without talkin about how much you hate his music. Guess what? Fuck you, I dont give a shit what the hell you think about this music, since this aint about that, and it aint music forum neither.

Substance Found in DMX Raid Not Drugs

PHOENIX - Investigators said a chunky textured substance seized from the bedroom of rapper DMX was not an illegal drug.

"We're still looking at what type of powder that is," Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Tuesday. "But we did seize a useable quantity of marijuana. He does have a drug situation there."

Sheriff's deputies found three dead dogs, guns, ammunition and drug paraphernalia at his Cave Creek residence Friday. Arpaio said officers were working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to determine whether DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was legally permitted to possess the weapons.

Authorities were looking into how the dogs died. Deputies found 12 other dogs that appeared malnourished. But none looked like they had been used for fighting, Arpaio said.

No charges have been filed against the rapper.

DMX, meanwhile, said through his attorney he was innocent of any wrongdoing and had not been home for "several months." Sheriff Arpaio said neighbors saw him within the past three weeks.

Sheriff's deputies made a series of visits to the rapper's home after an Aug. 7 report of neglected pit bulls. They found a man caring for several dogs during an Aug. 22 visit but he told them he was going on vacation and didn't know who would replace him, according to a search warrant affidavit.

The man, identified as Brad Blackwell, said he had only agreed to take care of the dogs for a couple of days until DMX could find someone else. According to the affidavit, deputies were told that DMX's manager had been sending him money for dog food through Western Union (nyse: WU - news - people ).

The rapper has had previous run-ins with the law. In June 2006, Scottsdale police cited him for carrying a concealed handgun outside a nightclub.

He also served 70 days in jail in 2005 for violating his parole following a 2004 incident in which he posed as an undercover federal agent and crashed his sport utility vehicle through a security gate at Kennedy International Airport.

DMX recorded the 1999 hit single "Party Up (Up in Here)." His last album, "Year of the Dog ... Again," was released last year.
