Big fucking deal.
So he shot some... something into (hopefully) one of his veins.
Tell me, would this "incident" have made it all the way to the media if the guy instead began:
- drinking?
- smoking a joint?
- smoking crack or meth?
- snorting a line of blow?
- sticking an ecstasy pill up his asshole, then taking a big whoof of his index finger?
It never ceases to amaze me how big of a grip, mainstream (prohibitionist) media continues to have on such a large part of society.
For the record, I'm not saying it's cool to go around calling yourself Krokodil Dundee, Methadone Don, or Frank the Tank - asking for attention because you claim to have an unyielding amount of tolerance for a specific drug, or drug family. In fact, this sort of attention seeking and drug glorifying behavior is likely to get your ass killed in one of the worst ways possible: by yourself, and by accident - for no other reason than because you were overconfident that you could handle it. Very reckless.
Yet, at the same time, I somewhat admire people like him for choosing not to give two shits about what others may think when it comes to his drug habits. Even if it means more lock up time.
But that's where it stops. Trying to be the center of attention because of it, and for the wrong reasons (glorification), is too much IMO.
Edit - And I've always felt the same way towards other drugs (including booze) and their consumers who like to gloat that they can take more than anyone alive, and end up in a coma afterwards. It's happened too many fucking times for me to count, and I've had to risk my freedom to drag their asses to the hospital. But at least they aren't dead now.
